nel in accordance with national legislation,
including the relevant standards and, where
applicable, in acc. with IEC 60079-17 on electri-
cal apparatus for explosive atmospheres.
- The fl oodlights must not be operated
in Zone 0 or 20!
- The light fi tting must not be use while exist
excessive layer of dust (accd. IEC 60079-31) !
- The technical data indicated on the fl ood-
lights are to be observed!
- Changes of the design and modifi cations to
the fl oodlights are not permitted!
- The fl oodlights shall be operated as intended
and only in undamaged and perfect condi-
tion!
- Only genuine Cooper Crouse-Hinds spare
parts may be used for replacement!
- Repairs parts that affect the explosion pro-
tection mode, may only be carried out by
Cooper Crouse-Hinds, or a qualifi ed "electri-
cian" and will subsequenctly have to be
cheked by an "expert"!
- Do not keep these operating instructions
inside the fl oodlights during operation!
- The national safety rules and regulations for
prevention of accidents and the following
safety instructions which are marked with an
(
) in these operating instruction, will have
to be observed!
2. Conformity with standards
This explosion protected fl oodlights conform to the stan-
dards specifi ed in the EC-Declaration of conformity.. It
also complies with the EC Directives for "Apparatus and
protective systems for use inexplosive atmospheres"
(94/9/EC).
It has been designed, manufactured and tested in
accordance to the state of the art and according to
EN29001 (ISO9001).
The luminaire are suitables for use in explosive
atmospheres, Zone 1 and 2 acc. to IEC60079-10-1 as
well as Zone 21 and 22 acc. to IEC 60079-10-2.

4. Installation
The respective national regulations as well as the ge-
neral rules of engineering which apply to the installa-
tion and operation of explosion protected apparatus will
have to be observed!
Transport and storage of the fl oodlights is permitted in
original packaging only!
Pay attention when mounting or repairing the luminaire,
dont damage the fi re-fi nish of the glass adquired during
moulding (abrasions, sanding, etc.) that can weaking
their mechanical functions.
4.1 Montage position!
Opening and closing the fl oodlights
The opening of luminaire always shall be without vol-
tage!
The luminaire is well closed when the gap of the fl ange
joints, in every side of the enclosure are < 0,15mm. Tor-
que of bolts thinckness > 20 Nm.
There're Exd joints in the frame - lamp housing, and in
the cover - controlgear housing!

4.2 Cable entries
Mounting the selected cable entries (cableglands)
acc. type and dimensions of the main conection ca-
ble, following their manufacturer instructions.
The cable entries devices has to be a protection
mode EX e II.
Unused cabe entries have to be closed by a corres-
pondante certifyed blanking plug.
If the original blanking plugs are used , these must
be tightened with 15 Nm torque.

Maintenance
Observe the national rules applicable to maintenan-
ce, servicing, inspection and repairing of apparatus
for explosive atmospheres, e.g. IEC 60079-17as well
as the general rules of engineering!
6.1 Servicing
The responsable of the safe use of these apparatus
is the property.
When servicing, in particular those components that
affect the explosion protection , will have to cheked,
e.g.:
- Housing and glass for any cracks or damage.
- The fl ameproof joint have to be clean, undameged,
without corrosion and perfect greassed.
- In the event of damage to the fl ameproof encap-
sulation or enclosure, replacement of this appa-
ratus is mandatory. In case of doubt, the respeti
ve apparatus shall be sent to
Cooper Crouse- Hinds for repair.
- Gaskets for their perfect conditions.
- Cable entries whitout corrosion.
- Terminlas for their fi rm fi t.
- Components like bushing, cableglands and other
related with the explosion protection of the enclo-
sure will have the same mode of protection as the
apparatus and certifi ed in accordance.
- The closing bolts of the Exd enclosure will be with
a category of A2-70 .
- Lamp replacement in acc. with the manufacturer
instructions.
See fi gures 3
- Type of lamps used in acc. with the luminaire spe-
cifi cations.
The fl ameproof of these apparatus have to be greas-
sed permanentlly in order to ensure it protection in
front of the corrosion, water ingrees and seize-up
problems. Cleaning rest of greasse and corrosion
no using sharp metallic devices who can damage
the surface of the joint, and greasing they using
apropiate greasse therminally and chemically sta-
ble like
e.g.: Unitemp2 -50 °C up to + 200 °C).
When the housing need to be repeinted, pay atten-
tion that the fl ameproof joints rest without any part
with coating.
See wiring diagram.
Less for the PTFE coating, that in this case ask
Cooper Crouse-Hinds, S.A. for the correct process!
6.2 Inspection
The nationals regulations have to be observed!
I.e. in Spain the inspections of the installations in ha-
zardous areas, have to be done by "qualifi ed" person-
nel in accordance with the Electrotechnical Low Votage
Regulation following the indications stablished in IEC
60079-17.
When the inspections are in degree of "Detailled" or
"Closed", the luminaires have to be disconnected
from the main conection!
6.3 Repairing
The nationals regulations have to be observed. The
tasks of repairing have to be made by "qualifi ed" per-
sonnel!
The reparation of the sealed part between the colla-
rand the glass have to be done by Cooper Crouse-
Hinds, S.A.. The users are not authorized to repair
this sealed part.
All reparations have to be done without voltage!.
For repair electrical equipments in protection mode is
suggested follow the instructions indicated
in IEC 60079-19.
Only use genuine Cooper Crouse-Hinds spare parts!.
