Example:
Assume an average weight per person of 220
lbs (100 kg), an average descent distance of 33
ft (10 meters) and 150 descents of this load and
distance.
100 kg x 10 meters x 150 descents x 10 =
1,500,000 joules
It is the owner's responsibility to document and
maintain a usage log that shows the cumulative
descent energy absorbed by the SKYLOTEC
DEUS 3000 Series controlled descent device. A
sample log is provided above, which includes the
calculations for descent energy, so you can track
this.
IMPORTANT: In accordance with EN 341, the
maximum number of descents with the DEUS
3700 device using the 8mm rope is 40 descents
before inspection. After 40 descents, the rope
must be inspected and may need to be taken
out of service. Aramid ropes experience different
wear characteristics and special attention must be
given.See "Rope inspection".
