late the digital radio channels by satellite. In this case, a preset fixed window will be automatically shown by
the video (TV, display ...).
Programming can be carried out by means of the PC, Controller Host and TPE universal programmer.
Refer to the download section of our web site www.fracarro.com to manage the headend by PC or Controller
Host and update the receivers' firmware.
To make programming easier, the headend is supplied with the OSD (On Screen Display) enabled by the TPE;
it transmits the same menus of the TPE with a Help description on the display (TV, field meter). To use this
functionality, the TPE programmer must have the 0.7 version or a version more current (available in our web
site www.fracarro.com).
The RF output is connected to the distribution network or to the existing installation.

3.1 USE OF AUDIO AND VIDEO SUB-D 15 PIN OUTPUTS/INPUTS
There are two IN/OUT connectors (SUB-D 15 poles, see Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 ) to manage A/V external signals
in the base band. The connectors are associated to the two 7 and 8 cards. The picture of Figure 14 shows
the connections on the upper side of the headend, in particular the SUB-D 15 pin connectors and the cor-
respondence with the no. 7 and no. 8 cards.
If these ports are used as outputs (receiver mode), the SAT signal (of the 7 and 8 receivers) is available in
the base band (on the SUB-D 15 poles connectors) as well as the modulated signal (at the RF output of the
headend).
If the connectors are used as inputs (modulator mode), the 7 and 8 cards modulate the external signals (in
base band) at the RF output; in this case, the SAT inputs of the 7 and 8 cards can be left free. Refer to the
Figure 11 for an example of a connection with two audio/video (S1, S2) sources that are remodulated at the
headend output.
The IN/OUT selection is performed by three switches positioned on the card front; refer to the following
Figure 15 to see where the switches are situated on the card.
To select the data flux, cut off the main network power to avoid entering in contact with parts under tension.
Open the headend front panel with the key and remove the receiver in position 7 or 8. Figure 15 shows the
switches on the front of each receiver. If the three switches are in the SAT position, the module is in the SAT
receiving mode.
If the three switches are in the EXT position, the receiver is in the modulation mode; this means that the card
modulates the external signal at the RF output.
The two SUB-D15 pin connectors are supplied with an audio and video regulation at the input. This variation
occurs by way of two trimmers placed on the front of each card (see Figure 15).
