Use (B, C, D)
Only use hood if it is undamaged and the lead seal on the filter is still intact!
• Open packaging and remove hood.
• Opening the filter: use the red pull cords to pull the sealing plugs on both sides of the
filter completely out of their holes. If this is not done, the filter will not function
correctly!
Before use, ensure that the filter opening is free, since breathing will otherwise be
impaired!
• Discard the two sealing plugs with the red cords and the container!
• Using both thumbs, push the filter out of the hood from inside.
• Take hold of the collar of the hood and open it wide. Put the chin into the collar first,
then pull the hood over the head.
There is no need to remove spectacles.
• Push long hair under the hood completely.
• Take hold of filter and move the nose cup so that it is positioned snugly around the
mouth and nose. Tighten draw-strap backwards. If this is not possible, hold mask firmly
in position using the hand.
The nose cup is positioned snugly around the mouth and nose and the collar fits tightly
around the neck.
Full beards can cause leaks and put the wearer of the hood at risk!
If the escape hood is used by children, an adult should make sure that the nose cup is
positioned correctly and tightly.
• Breathe calmly! Breathing is slightly more difficult. The air in the mask becomes
noticeably warmer: this is an indication of correct operation of the filter.
• Find an escape route to an emergency exit. If this is not possible, wait for the arrival of
help! Knock on walls or stand at a window so that the rescuers can find you.
