4. EXTENSION WINGS INSTALL
The shaper has one
extension wing that
needs to be mounted
before it can be oper-
ated (Fig.3).
To install:
1. Attach the extension wing to the table us-
ing three M10*35mm socket head cap screws,
three M10 flat washers.
2. Slide the extension wing until the front of
the wing is flush with the main table.
3. Using a straight edge, align the extension
wing to the table and securely tighten the
three socket head cap screws.
5. INSTALLING SPINDLE
WARNING: Make certain that the shaper is
disconnected from the power source.
SPINDLE AND ARBOR IS SEPARATE
1. Select the appropriate spindle for your shap-
ing operation. This Shaper comes equipped
with a 3/4" spindle, a 5/4" spindle, and a router
collet that accepts 1/4" and 1/2" router bits.
2. Insert the end of
the spindle into quill
of the shaper. MAKE
CERTAIN to align the
keyway in the spindle
with the tab on the
quill (Fig.4).
3. Insert the draw bar (Fig.5-A) through the
bottom of the quill, making sure that the bev-
eled edge of the drawbar nut (B) is facing up-
wards.
4. Use the spindle wrench to hold the top flats
on the spindle while tightening the draw bar
nut using an open end wrench (Fig.6).

IF YOUR SPINDLE AND ARBOR IS WHOLE, IN-
STALL THE SPINDLE AS NEXT STEP
1. Remove the bolt (Fig.7-C) from the spindle
cartridge.

2. Insert a shim into
the gap of spindle
cartridge, thread the
bolt (C) from the left
of spindle cartridge,
till easily remove the
spindle (D) down from
spindle cartridge.
3. Replace the spindle model (30mm spindle or
router bit collect) as the other.
4. Hold the replaced spindle, and insert it into
the spindle cartridge, till touch the space (E),
5. Tighten bolt (C)
6. SETTING TABLE INSERTS
The table inserts are pre-installed at the fac-
tory. They should be adjusted so that the top
surface of the insert is level with the table top.
If any adjustment is necessary:
WARNING: Make certain that the shaper is
disconnected from the power source.
1. Remove the three
screws in the top of
the insert.
2. With the screws re-
moved, you can see
the three insert level-
ing screws (Fig.8-A).
3. Using a 6mm hex wrench, turn the adjust-
ing screws so that the insert sits flush with the
table.
4. Replace the screws removed in step1.
7. ATTACHING CUTTERS AND COLLARS TO SPIN-
DLE
WARNING: Make certain that the shaper is
disconnected from the power source.
1. When attaching a
cutter, remember to
position the cutter as
close to the bottom
of the spindle as pos-
sible.
2. Remove both spin-
dle nuts (Fig.9-E) and
special washer (B).
3. Decide which collars you will need to use, if
any, and place over the spindle.
4. Attach the cutter (D) to the spindle.
5. Add collar (if any) and then attach the spe-
cial washer (B). Figure 15 shows a collar (C) in-
stalled above the cutter.
