Introduction
Mercury-SPN air treatment terminal units are available in eight different models with air flow rates of 840 to 3270m3/h.
They have been designed for residential and commercial use, their important characteristics being their small size and ease of assembly.
Their size and structure make them suitable for installation in false ceilings, and their fans are designed for use with ducts with medium static
pressure and acceptable air flow rates, sufficient for any type of installation.
These units can only work in horizontal position.
The accessories most commonly used in this type of installation, which are described later in this manual, are available.
The unit is basically composed of the following parts:
-
Support structure or body
-
Fan
-
Thermal exchange battery with the corresponding air drain
-
Connection terminal
-
Air filter
-
Collection tray for condensed water
General technical characteristics
The unit body is made of galvanized sheet.
The inner insulation is made of synthetic thermal foam, to prevent condensation on the outer part of the body.
The water batteries are made of inner grooved and expanded copper pipes, with specially designed aluminium fins, obtaining high efficiency
in thermal exchange.
The battery connections are always gas thread type, male connection.
All units are equipped with a large tray for collection of condensed water from the battery fins and collectors.
The air filters are easily removable from underneath as well as from the side. They can be cleaned with either compressed air or with
lukewarm water.
The fans are three-speed centrifugal type, and are perfectly balanced to achieve a reduced sound level in the unit. The selection of speeds
can be manual or automatic depending on the type of control used (see related chapter).
The connection terminals connect directly to the inputs of the fan motor speed.
These units have been designed to be used with medium-high static pressure type air ducts; therefore, to eliminate noise problems in the
installation, it is recommended that ducts be used with medium soundproofing, which is considered to be sufficient.
