Instructions for use
1.) Marking
2.) General Information
Please read and ensure you understand all the instructions provided
with the product before use. The CLAW follow-on fall arrest device
(hereafter referred to as a runner) is connected to a fixed ladder/rigid
anchor line to provide a climbing protection system, enabling safe
ascent or descent to or from high or low working areas. Each runner
can be used by a maximum of one person, with a user weight of 50 to
150kg. (User weight = person including equipment and tools). The
weight of the user without equipment and tools must not fall below the
minimum nominal load. Components of a complete system may only
be replaced with components from the relevant system.
The runners must be marked with the name plate of the relevant fall
arrest system and may only be used with this system. Arbitrary
modifications or repairs are not permitted. Runners that have been
removed must be properly adjusted to the system before use. The
correct alignment of the runners is marked on the device (pictogram).
A
The system should only be used in accordance with its
intended use. The runners must always be attached to the
front harness fall arrest eyelet (e.g. EN 361 in Europe)
EN 353-1
marked „A". For harnesses with certified fall-arrest eyelets, this is
shown accordingly (A with ladder). Attach the carabiner to the eyelet.
Ensure the carabiner has automatically snapped shut so that the
system is safely locked (TRILOCK). The use of PPE is governed in
Germany by the DGUV 112-198 and DGUV 112-199 regulations in
German statutory accident insurance, as well as by local and industry-
specific accident prevention regulations. In other countries, the
relevant national health and safety regulations should be observed.
Fall arrest equipment may only be used by people who have been
trained to use it safely and who have the relevant expertise. Climbing
when in a physical condition or constitution that may affect the safety
of the user in normal conditions and in emergency situations is not
permitted. Before each use, a visual check of the fall arrest system
and PPE equipment used alongside it should be carried out to ensure
it is fit for use. Watch out for hazards and potential impairment of
function through exposure to sharp edges, temperatures, chemical
substances, electrical conductivity, cuts, friction, UV light and other
climatic conditions. If the fall-arrest equipment is sold in another
country, the reseller must make the instructions for use, maintenance,
regular checking and servicing available in the relevant language. The
