INFORMATION
When the Protective Cover is installed, the battery charger cable has to point to the upper clos
ure. A correct knee joint charging process is only ensured with this alignment.

6 Preparation for use
6.1 Required tools

6.2 Adapting the Protective Cover
6.2.1 Shortening the Protective Cover – Preliminary Shortening
1) Remove the prosthesis from the residual limb.
2) Remove the shoe from the prosthetic foot.
3) Loosen the foot connection cap of the prosthetic foot.
4) Check whether the closures on the Protective Cover are properly fastened and the Protective
Cover is not twisted.
5) Lay the Protective Cover next to the prosthesis.
INFORMATION: Make sure that the knee plateaus of the knee joint and Protective
Cover are at the same level (see fig. 1).
6) Mark the Protective Cover distally at the level of the foot contact surface (see fig. 2).
INFORMATION: For tall patients, shortening the Protective Cover may not be required.
7) Make another mark 1 cm above the existing mark.
8) Apply crepe adhesive tape proximally all around at this mark.
9) Use a vibrating or band saw to shorten the Protective Cover along the bottom edge of the
crepe adhesive tape.
