4 Handling
INFORMATION
► The daily duration of use and period of application are generally deter­
mined by the physician.
► The initial fitting and application of the product must be carried out by
qualified personnel.
► Instruct the patient in the handling and care of the product.
► Instruct the patient to see a physician immediately if any exceptional
changes are noted (e.g. worsening of the complaint).
4.1 Selecting the Size
The brace is available in a universal size. Distances between the tip of the
chin and the top of the sternum in the range of 6.4 cm to 12.7 cm can be fit­
ted.
4.2 Adaptation
The brace is delivered ready for trial fitting. Adjustment is not required.
1) Turn the brace lock on both sides counter-clockwise to the "open" posi­
tion (arrowheads in vertical position) (see fig. 1).
2) Engage the brace on both sides in the corresponding position (1-9) (see
fig. 2).
CAUTION! Ensure that the brace setting is the same on both sides.
3) Turn the brace lock clockwise to the "closed" position (arrowheads in
horizontal position) (see fig. 3).
4) Adjusting the inner part of the brace for small neck diameters:
Hold the neckpiece of the inner part of the brace with both hands and
press it together. This will allow you to bend the brace round.
5) Optional: Shorten the hook-and-loop closure to the desired length (see
fig. 6).
4.3 Application
CAUTION
Use with heat-sensitive skin
Skin irritation due to overheating
► Do not use the product in case of a known heat allergy.
► Do not continue to use the product if skin irritation occurs.
