• Ensure that the appliance is connected to a power
source.
• Open the one-piece appliance lid and using the glass
pot fill the water tank with the desired amount of
cold water. Using the water level indicators on the
tank you can measure out water for the desired
number of cups. One level marker on the tank is
equivalent to one large cup of coffee approx. 125 ml.
The tank has a maximum capacity of 2.5 cups. Close
the lid again after filling.
• Put the filter holder on the empty glass pot.

bag into the filter holder by hand to ensure the
perfect fit.
• Put ground coffee in the filter bag. The amount de-
pends on your personal taste. We recommend using
6 g of ground coffee per large cup.
• Now put the pot and the filter holder back in the
appliance.
• Turn the appliance on . The lamp on the switch
lights up and the brewing process begins.
• After making your coffee the hotplate will keep it
warm and will turn off automatically after 40
minutes. This avoids unnecessary use of electricity
and saves energy. You can of course turn the
appliance off manually at any time.
4. Cleaning and maintenance
External cleaning
• The housing can be cleaned with a soft damp cloth.
• The glass pot and lid, the filter insert and the swivel
filter can be washed in the dishwasher.
• When cold, the hotplate can be cleaned with a soft
damp cloth.
Descaling
Depending on water hardness calcification can occur
over time. This increases the appliance's energy
consumption as lime scale on the heating element can
prevent the water heating effectively. To avoid damage
the appliance must be descaled regularly. You should
descale your coffee machine after about every 40
brewings.
The descaling process consists of 2 steps both of
which must be carried out completely.
1. Descaling
• Follow the manufacturers instructions regarding
amounts and fill the water tank up to the MAX level.
We recommend using Melitta
Machines.
• Turn the appliance on and follow the instructions
given by the descaler manufacturer.
• When the descaler liquid has completely run through
the appliance, turn the appliance off immediately.
2. Rinsing
• After step 1 the appliance must be rinsed with
fresh water. Allow the appliance to cool for about
two minutes then fill with the maximum amount
of water.
• Turn the appliance on and allow the water to flow
through completely. Then turn off immediately.
• Repeat the rinsing process.
