Data cable
The data connection for DATCOM devices uses 8-pin data cables (1:1-connection) and
RJ 45 plugs. A commercially-available crimping tool can be used to adjust cables to the
desired length.
This requires:
(1) An 8-pin ribbon cable
(2) Two RJ 45 plugs (8-pin telephone plugs)
(3) A crimping tool
The items mentioned above are available from Fronius under the following item num-
bers:

Proceed as follows to assemble the data
cables:
1. Shorten cable to the desired length
using the crimping tool
2. Strip the outer insulation of the cable
ends using the crimping tool
NOTE When attaching the RJ 45
plug to the ribbon cable, the wires
must have the same position in
both plugs (e.g. black = PIN1,
white =PIN8)
3. Attach RJ 45 plug
