6.5.1 General
When installing and using the Powerlift M lifting column, special precautions must be
taken according to the EMC information given below.
This device complies with the limit values for a Group 1, Class B electric medical device (according
to EN 60601-1-2).
Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) refers to the ability of a device to function reliably in its
electromagnetic environment without introducing inadmissible electromagnetic interferences.
Such interference can be transmitted, among other things, by connecting cables or the air.
Inadmissible interference from the environment can result in malfunction of the lifting column. In
some cases, the lifting column can also result in such interference with other devices. To resolve
the problems, one or more of the following measures should be taken:
Change the device orientation or move the device further from the source of the interference.
Position or use the lifting column in a different location.
Connect the lifting column to another power supply.

Unauthorised modifications or extensions to the device or the use of non-recommended

manufacturer is not responsible for this. In addition, such modifications may result in loss of
authorization to use the device.
WARNING: portable HF communication devices (radio devices) including accessories,
e.g., antenna cables and external antennas can impair the performance features of the
lifting column. When using these devices, ensure a minimum distance of 30 cm (12
inches).
The use of the lifting column is envisaged both for home healthcare settings and professional
healthcare facilities. Checking additional requirements with deviating test levels is not necessary.
Conformity is verified by complying with the requirements for the environment of home
healthcare. This also meets the requirements for professional healthcare facility environments.
The lifting column should not be used in the following environment:
In the vicinity of active HF surgical equipment.
In HF screening rooms used for magnetic resonance imaging, where EM high intensity
disturbances occur.
