The rubber pads (1) are supplied dismounted, in
order to mount the pads (1), remove the nuts (2) and
washers (3) from the screw and mount in the holes
located in the ES-450 frame mounting base (4). Then,
place the washers and the nut and slightly tighten it,
as shown in the Figure 11.
Note:
Do not attach the machine to the
floor, let it unattached with all the feet laying
on a leveled basis and with the rubber pads
in order to absorb the equipment vibration.
Attaching the machine to the floor leads to a
warranty loss.
Prevent impurities from entering the gearbox.
In order to change the gearbox oil, it is necessary to
remove the drainage plug (1) located in the gearbox
mounting base.
Use 700 ml SAE 140 oil every change or add oil until
the sight level is reached (2).
Change oil after the first 50 hours of operation.
The following oil changes can be made every
300 hours of operation.
After placing the oil check the level through the oil
sight glass (2). Since it must be immersed in oil.
Use the oil sight glass to check the oil level regularly.
Blades sharpening
The TRAPP forage harvester leaves the factory with
tempered blades.
To sharpen them, remove the screws (C) which
attach the cutting blade (A) to the disk (D) as
indicated in Figure 14, and remove the cutting
blade. Use an appropriate tool or a manual file,
sharpen one cutting blade at a time and mount it in
the same place it was removed from so as not to
affect the disk balance.

Sharpen the blades if you notice that the cutting
edges are wearing out (blunt edges). Only sharpen
the blade side as indicated (fig. 13) by keeping the
same slant at all times. Always try to sharpen each
blade evenly so that to keep shaft assembly balance
and to avoid causing vibrations. Replace the blades
whenever an optimum sharpening no longer can be
achieved.
