6. Repeat the above steps – without the 15 minutes reaction time - with 3 water tank fillings of clear water
to rinse the system from any cleaning solution residues.
Trouble-Shooting
Problem
Coffee spills from carafe.
Water leaks from under the appliance.
Espresso has an acidic taste
Espresso no longer comes out.
Unit does not switch on when pressing

Espresso drips from the edge of the fil-
ter holder instead of its spouts.
Possible Reason
• Carafe not positioned correctly on
hotplate.
• Water in tank exceeds max filling
level.
• Too much liquid in drip tray.
• Appliance is defective.
• Unit was not sufficiently rinsed after
descaling.
• Coffee powder not stored correctly
(stored in warm and humid place)
and spoilt.
• Lack of water in the tank.
• Filter holder spouts are blocked.
• Unit is not connected to the mains.
• The filter holder is not locked secure-
ly.
• The filter holder spouts are blocked.
Solution
• Align carafe centre on hotplate.
• Observe MAX filling mark of water
tank.
• Empty drip tray and clean.
• Contact an authorized service centre.
• Rinse the unit as described under
Descaling.
• Use fresh coffee powder and store in
a cold and dry place.
• Fill the water tank.
• Clean the filter holder and filter.
• Check the proper function of the wall
socket with another device, and then
insert the plug of the unit correctly. If it
still does not work, contact an authori-
zed service centre.
• Insert the filter holder correctly and
lock it into place.
• Clean the spouts.
