To open the pressure cooker:
• If the handles are resistant when trying to open the pressure cooker, it
means there is still pressure inside.
Slightly lift the working valve to check if the steam has been fully
released. If there is still pressure inside the pressure cooker, do one of
the following:
1 - Slow cooling: allow the pressure cooker to cool at room temperature.
2 - Fast cooling: keep the working valve in place and run cold water
over the lid. This will reduce pressure inside the pressure cooker. Then
lift the working valve again to check if the pressure has been completely
released.
The working valve should never be
removed while the pressure cooker is hot.
The valve can be removed safely after the
pressure cooker has cooled down;
• Do not remove the lid until you are sure
that all the pressure has been released. To
open the lid, turn it in a counterclockwise
direction until the arrow on the lid is lined
up with the arrow on the handle (fig. 13);
• When turning the lid, do not pull the handle upward. Just gently turn the
lid until the arrows are lined up, and then lift and remove the lid. This will
ensure that the parts are not damaged.
6 - Care
• Never heat an empty pressure cooker or allow all the water to evaporate
during cooking;
• Keep a close eye on the pressure cooker while it is in use;
• Use extreme caution when handling the pressure cooker, especially
when it is pressurized;
• Always check the condition of your pressure cooker's parts. If a part
needs to be replaced, contact Tramontina at one of the addresses listed
in this manual or on our website (www.tramontina.com). Replace worn
parts only with original parts.
7 - Care and Maintenance of Pressure Cooker
Care and Cleaning:
• When food is ready, promptly remove it from the pressure cooker and clean
the pressure cooker immediately.
18
It is particularly important to clean the pressure cooker in the case of
acidic or alkaline foods as these can damage the pressure cooker. Wash
the outside with warm water and mild detergent;
• To clean the inside of the pressure cooker, use a mild abrasive such as a
scouring liquid cleanser;
• To remove food stuck to the inside of the pressure cooker, fill the pressure
cooker halfway with cold water, lid the pressure cooker and heat the water.
Allow steam to be released for at least 10 minutes and then remove the
pressure cooker from the heat. When the pressure cooker is cooled down,
remove the lid and finish cleaning.
Working valve (pressure release):
• After each use, open the pressure cooker and remove the metal filter.
Check and clean it carefully to remove any residue (fig.14);
• Check the steam outlet hole against the light and make sure there are
no blockages (fig.15). If there is a blockage, remove it with warm water
and, if necessary, use an object to clear the blockage (fig.16).
• Make sure the inside of the working valve (fig. 14), the safety valve
(fig. 17), the safety lock button and the handle are all clean, so that the
safety system is not blocked.
Safety valve:
• After each use, make sure the safety valve
(shown in the picture) is clean. If it is not clean,
wash it with hot water.
Silicone sealing ring:
• Remove the silicone sealing ring:
• Wash it with warm water and mild detergent;
• Replace it on the lid;
• Regularly check the condition of the silicone
sealing ring for excess wear and replace it when necessary.
