7) Press the CONFIRM button and, just before leaving the room to press the X-ray emission button, ask the patient
to close his or her eyes and to keep still.

5.5. ACQUISITION OF THE EXAM

Visually check that the patient is correctly positioned and that the central green LED on the X-ray remote control is
steady on.

Ask the patient not to move during the examination and to breathe slowly and regularly. For panoramic (PAN)
projections, ask the patient to swallow just before X-ray radiation exposure (so that the tongue is up against palate).

Have anyone not necessary move away from the area exposed to radiation and, where required, stand behind the
special protection.
The X-ray device emits rays to acquire the images only if its status is Ready, i.e. when the green LED on the
control console and on the remote control is on. It may occur that, as a result of the user or of the X-ray device
error, the device does not indicate that it is ready and X-rays can hence not be emitted. Correct the error (see
the chapter Error Messages) and press the CONFIRM button.

selected.
Then use the buttons
vertical focusing light beam exactly on the head of the
condyle as shown in the figure.
Follow the same steps of the Lateral TMJ examination.
In order to adjust the head inclination, just raise or lower
the unit using the height adjustment buttons.

Press the X-ray button on the remote control and
hold it down for the entire duration of the
examination. The examination time is determined by
the intermittent yellow LED on the X-ray remote
control device. X-ray emission is signalled by an
acoustic signal.
