4 GENERAL COPYING PROCESS
1 – Press buttons 1 and 2 of the remote control copy simulta-
neously until the red led flashes.
2 – Release both buttons and wait for red led to turn off.
3 – Press the button in the duplicator remote control where to
copy the original code.
On copying a Rolling code remote control, the chosen button
and thereafter will be recorded. That is to say, if you choose
button 2 on the remote control copy, buttons 1, 2 and 3 will be
copied from the original in buttons 2, 3 and 4 on the remote
control copy.
In the fixed code remote controls, only copy the button from the
original in the copy button selected.
4 – The red led stays on.
5 – Place the original remote control and the copy on a smooth
non-metallic surface and place the original remote in the right
side of the duplicator remote control at a distance of less than 1
cm. (In some cases maybe it is needed to locate the original re-
mote nearer next to the copy remote but the recommended dis-
tance is 1 cm or more to avoid possible reception saturation).
6 – Press the button of the original remote control which you
wish to copy..
7 – Green led will switch on when code is received.
Note: In remotes that stop the transmission after a while pus-
hing the button, repeat the pushing until the led in the copy
remote reacts somehow.
7–1 If original remote is a fixed code, or a Rolling code which
just one frame is needed from (see attached table) green led
will switch off once the code is verified and copied.
7–2 If original remote is a Rolling Code which two frames are
needed from (see attached table) red led will switch on again
and a second transmission of the original remote must be sent.
Green led will switch off once the code is verified and copied.
Warning indication
When green led starts flashing instead of switching off, it
means that a fixed code has been catched, but it was not able
to verify it internally. This indication is common and must not
be taken into account if original remote is a "Mastercode",
"Multifrequency" or "Lift Master fixed code".
In any other case, it is recommended to do the copying process
again modifying the distance between original and JMA remo-
te, making it shorter or larger, and maybe changing the battery
in the M-FR1 or the original remote.
Anyway, even if the warning indication appears the copy is
made and is possible that the remote could work in the door.
Error indication
When red led starts flashing, it means that code was not co-
pied. This is caused by any of these reasons:
a) The code from the original was not correctly read. , it is
recommended to do the copying process again modifying the
distance between original and JMA remote, making it shorter
or larger, and maybe changing the battery in the M-FR1 or the
original remote.
b) The Rolling code cannot be decrypted. In this case the error
indication appears after reading the second frame.
5 ABBREVIATED MODE FOR COPYING FIXED CODES
1 – Press buttons 1 and 3 of the remote control copy simulta-
neously until the red led flashes and follow the steps from point 2.
This method is a shorter way to copy a fixed code, when it is
know that original remote is a fixed code and M-FR1 is detecting
it like a Rolling because of very similar pattern, or if customer
just wants to make the copy in fixed mode in special cases.
6 AUTOMATIC REGISTRY BY THE RECEIVER
The attached table shows, which Rolling Code remotes can
work directly on the receiver after doing the copy and which
ones can be automatically programmed without the needing of
the original remote. The others need to be programmed using
the original remote or directly on the receiver if "radio" mode
is disabled.
In order to start the automatic programming on the receiver,
we need to keep on pushing the button for 14 seconds next to
the receiver. After the first 4 seconds the led will switch off,
and after the following 10 seconds the automatic programming
process will start. Once the process starts, we can release the
button and wait until led switches off again.
NOTE: The success of the process depends on the receiver type
and if this one has radio mode enabled and free space in me-
mory card.
7 SYNCHRONISING ROLLING CODE REMOTE CONTROLS
WITH THE RECEIVER
SYNCHRONISING AERF ROLLING CODE REMOTE CON-
TROLS
The JCM rolling code remote control synchronisation procedure
is identical for all models, including customised models, except
the 868 MHz.
There are two synchronisation procedures for these devices.
Remote synchronisation procedure using the original remote
control
1. Stand near the receiver and use a pointed object to press
the pushbutton at the rear of the remote control already syn-
chronised in the facility. If there is no rear button, press all the
buttons on the original device at once.
The receiver will emit a beep, indicating that it has switched to
synchronisation mode.
2. Within 10 seconds of the beep, press the button on the devi-
ce to be synchronised.
The receiver will emit another short beep to indicate that the
remote control has been synchronised.
If the receiver fails to synchronise the device (does not emit
the short beep) it may mean that the memory is full and the
remote control cannot be synchronised without the installer's
