6 - CLEANING
FRONT AND PAINTED CAST IRON PARTS
Clean the stove when it is cold. Do not use
detergents or abrasive products.
THE GLASS PANE ON THE DOOR
Never try to clean the glass while there is a fire in
the fireplace. We recommend using Hergóm glass
cleaning products when the stove is cold.
Replacing. The glass pane in your STOVE is made
of thermal material (Termoshock), especially
manufactured for log fireplaces. If it should break,
it must be replaced by another glass pane with
the same technical specifications. Contact our
Distributor to provide you with the appropriate
glass pane, together with instructions to assemble
and seal it.
JOINTS AND SEALS
We recommend a visual inspection of the state of
joints (doors, glass...) and seals at the beginning
and half-way through a season to check whether
they need replacing or repairing.
REMOVING ASH
The DERO stove is equipped with an internal ash
pan to make it easier to remove ash.
If there is an excessive accumulation of ash, use a
spade to remove the ashes from the stove. Place
the ashes in a metal container (make sure the ash
is cold and that there are no embers). When there
is little ash, you can remove the cast iron grill and
use a brush to brush the ash into the ash pan. Then
you can remove it and empty the ash into a metal
container.
