2. Safety Information
2.1 Safety provisions
For your own safety, the safety of your patients, and to comply with the requirements of
EU Directive 93/42 EEC, please observe the following points:

Caution!
•
Read these operating instructions carefully. They are part of to the pres-
sure reducer and must be available at all times.
•
Before working with the pressure reducer, you should understand how
it works. In the event of queries, contact your authorized dealer or the
manufacturer.
•
Use the pressure reducer for the designated purpose only (see "1.1 Pur-
pose" on page 8).
•
Have all inspection and servicing work carried out by the manufacturer
(WEINMANN) or by a trained authorized dealer.
•
Malfunctions and a lack of biocompatibility may result if third-party arti-
cles are used. Please bear in mind that in these cases any warranty enti-
tlement and liability shall lapse where the accessories recommended in
the instructions for use or original spare parts are not utilised.
•
A spare unit must always be kept handy in case of failure.
•
Please observe the section "5. Hygienic preparation" on page 19 in order
to avoid infection or bacterial contamination.
•
Inadequate supply of oxygen possible.
Never use pressure reducers with a flow outlet to operate medical devic-
es. The supply pressure of the flow outlets is inadequate for this and
could result in malfunctions or failures of the medical devices and thus in
a risk to the patient.
•
Device failure possible.
Read the technical data before connecting a medical product. The use of
incompatible devices can lead to the failure of these devices.
•
Inadequate supply of oxygen possible.
Ensure that the multistep adjuster "engages" properly in the desired set-
ting on OXYWAY Fast pressure reducers. If the flow adjuster is between
