Pre-Operation Inspection

WARNING
Daily before use, inspect your Mega-
Press Press-In Branch Connector Instal-
lation Kit and correct any problems to
reduce the risk of serious injury from
electric shock, entanglement, crushing
injuries and other causes, and prevent
tool damage.
1. Clean any oil, grease or dirt from the
tool, including grip points. This aids in-
spection and helps prevent the tool from
slipping from your grip.
2. Inspect the Kit components for the follow-
ing:
• Proper assembly, maintenance and
com plete ness.
• Any broken, worn, missing, misaligned
or binding parts or other damage.
• Confirm fasteners and drills are secure.

• Inspect the chain for any separation of
links or other damage. Link separation
indicates the chain has been over-
loaded and should be replaced.
• Inspect the cutting edges of the pilot
drill and hole saw for wear, deformation,
chips or other issues. Confirm that the
pilot drill and hole saw are secure. A
dull, damaged or loose pilot drill can
damage the tool, produce poor cut
quality and increase the risk of injury.
Worn hole saws can create undersize
holes and prevent the insertion of the
fitting. Do not sharpen drills or hole
saws, replace if worn.
• Presence and readability of guide warn -
ing label (Figure 2).

• Any other condition that may prevent
safe and normal operation.
If any problems are found, do not use
the tool until the problems have been
repaired.
3. Inspect and maintain any other equip-
ment being used per its instructions to
make sure it is functioning properly.
