MODELS
This manual describes the SAM-3000, SAS-
5000 and SAS-6000 Dryer Polisher insta-
llation, operation and maintenance instruc-
tions. The model reference and technical
data appear on the identification plate affi-
xed to the machine.
European Directives and standards (version
400-230V III and 230V II):
Machinery Directive 98/37/EEC.
Low Voltage Directive 73/23/EEC.
Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive
89/336/EEC .
INSTALLATION
For optimum performance and long-lasting
preservation of your machine, carefully
read and follow the instructions given in
this manual.
Location
Place the machine on a firm ground and
perfectly levelled. This condition must be
fulfilled for the machine to operate within
acceptable limits of vibration.
Level the machine using the adjustable feet
(F).
It is recommended to leave a minimum cle-
arance of 40mm between the machine jac-
ket and the walls or other pieces of equip-
ment which may surround the dryer polis-
her.
To prevent damage to the machine, never
lay it down on one of its sides.
Electric connection
Motor Characteristics:
A single-phase motor is supplied for ope-

ration on 230V.
A three-phase motor is supplied for opera-
tion on
230V or 400V (factory-set to
Azpeitia,
400V).
Before connecting the dryer polisher to the
mains, check that the motor is prepared to
operate on the actual mains voltage. If not,
change the motor voltage setting.
To change the voltage setting
·Change the motor connection as shown
on the wiring diagram and in the terminal
box.
·Use the jumper prepared for this purpose
on the connecting terminals.
Power Cable Characteristics
The SAMMIC dryer polishers are delivered
complete with a thermoplastics-sheathed
power cable 2m in length. THIS APPLIANCE
MUST BE EARTHED. The machine earth wire
is identified.
Power line required
For three-phase motor powered machines,
one 20A 3PN+E wall outlet and a sealed
plug are required for the connection of the
dryer polisher cable.
For single-phase motor powered machi-
nes, one 20A 2P+E wall outlet and a sealed
plug are required for the connection of the
dryer-polisher cable.
Changing the direction of rotation of the
vibromotor (on three-phase machines
only):
If the movement of the polish were not
upward, then the vibromotor's direction of
rotation would be wrong. To correct it,
interchange the positions of any two wires,
after verifying that the machine has been
disconnected from the mains.
START-U U P
Filling of polish granules
Start the machine (see "Operation"). Fill the
hopper with the polish granules supplied,
through the central cutlery inlet (C).
SAMMIC supplies a bag of polish granules
with each machine and these are the
recommended amounts of polish granules
according to the machine model:
SAM-3000: 3kg of polish granules.
SAS-5000 and SAS-6000: 5kg of polish
granules.
If the motor direction of rotation is correct,
the product will be distributed evenly in the
hopper with an ascending movement. Once
the granules have been distributed homo-
geneously, switch the machine off.
Operation
The dryer polisher only starts when the lid
is closed. Provided the connection to the
mains has been made correctly:
SAM-3000:
press the M button and the machine will
start.
SAS-5000 and SAS-6000:
First switch the main switch (G) on so as to
power the machine on. Next press the M
start button to set the machine in opera-
tion.
As the motor starts, an ascending whirl
develops inside the tub, causing the items
of cutlery to circulate. On SAM-3000 and
SAS-6000 models, not only the motor, but
also the fan starts, which prevents dirt and
polish to get out with the pieces of cutlery.
At the same time, the heaters start war-
ming up until the granules reach the
necessary temperature for drying and
polishing the cutlery. Light indicator (A)
warns the user when the heaters are war-
ming up and turns off when the adequate
temperature has been reached. This indi-
cator will turn on and off automatically,
regulating the temperature of the granules
throughout the cycle. It is recommended to
switch the machine on about 20 minutes
before use. This will ensure the granules
have reached the required temperature
before loading the first batch of cutlery
giving a better result.
It is essential that the cutlery is wet or
directly coming from the dishwasher, i.e.
always damp, when loaded in the dryer
polisher. For best results, the pieces of
cutlery should be wetted with hot water.
This machine is ineffective in polishing dry
cutlery.
If you lift the top cover or press the red
push-button P, the machine stops and the
heaters stop heating. Model SAS-6000 fea-
tures a brake that stops the tub instantly.
