Gasoline
is highly flammable
and must be
handled with care. Never fill the tank when the
engine is still hot from recent operation.
Do not
allow open flame, smoking
or matches in the area.
Avoid over-filling
and wipe up any spills.
Do not remove fuel filter when engine is hot, as
spilled
gasoline
may ignite. DO NOT spread hose
cJamps further than necessary.
Ensure cJamps
grip hoses firmly over fitter after installation.
Service lntervah 100 hours or once per year,
The fuel filter is located in the fuel line between fuel tank
and carburetor,
On KoMer models it is on the left side of
the engine, under the fuel tank, On Briggs & Stratton
models it is behind the engine, under the fuel tank, If the
filter is dirty or clogged, replace as follows:
1, Stop the engine and allow the unit to cool,
2, Disconnect the negative battery cable from the nega°
tive battery terminal (B, Figure 33),
3, Using locking pliers, clamp off the fuel line on both
sides of the fuel filter (A),
4, Place a suitable container under the fuel filter to
catch spilled fuel,
5, Spread the fuel filter clamps only far enough to
remove the clamps, Move the clamps away from the
fuel filter,
6, Remove and replace the fuel filter,
7, Secure the fuel filter with the original clamps and
remove the locking pliers,
8, Reconnect the negative battery cable (B) when fin-
ished,
