WMF Filter Decanter
The Source of Better Taste.
Congratulations on your selection. You have
chosen a quality WMF product. Your filter decanter
makes an important contribution to better tasting
food and drink.
In conventional water filters, an ion exchanger
reduces the amount of limescale and removes
substances that impair flavour, such as chlorine
and heavy metals. The WMF water filtration system
has a dual effect. It removes limescale and other
substances which impair taste, but it also mineral-
ises the drinking water with magnesium. The
mineral acts as a flavour carrier. Drinking water
filtered in this way tastes more aromatic, and tea
and coffee develop more taste.
By using a water filtration system and not using
water from plastic bottles, you will also contribute
to protecting our environment.
Quality Features
The filter decanter is made from high quality
plastic. Filter decanter contains no bisphenol A. It
fits into the beverage compartment of commercial
refrigerators. The decanter is suitable for cleaning
in a dishwasher – with the exception of the lid.

Two options for filling the decanter:
1. Directly filling the decanter:
It is possible to fill the decanter through the
large opening in the lid without lifting the lid.
2. Filling using the sit-on filter receptacle:
Filling the sit-on filter receptacle enables the
entire volume of the decanter to be used.
The long-life filter cartridge has the dual effect of
removing limescale substances which impair taste
from the water while at the same time mineralising
it with magnesium.
Please read all the following use and care in-
structions prior to using for the first time.
Instructions for Use
The battery for the consumption indicator is
enclosed separately and must be fitted before the
device is used for the first time. To do this, remove
the battery from its packaging, release the flip lid
from its holder, open the housing in the lid and
insert the battery paying attention to the correct
polarity. To protect from damp, close properly and
press the flip lid back into its holder. Prior to using
for the first time and whenever a cartridge is
replaced, clean the decanter, lid and funnel with
slightly soapy water and then rinse thoroughly
with warm water. Do not use any sand-based
cleaning agents or scouring pads, as these may
leave behind scratches.
The decanter and funnel can be cleaned in the
dishwasher.
The lid is not suitable for cleaning in a dishwasher.
In order to achieve the best possible filtration
performance, we recommend placing the filter
cartridge once in tap water for five minutes prior
to using for the first time. Then, pour the water
away or use for watering plants, etc.
After soaking, insert the cartridge into the funnel
by applying slight pressure.
There are 2 filling options:
1. Directly filling the decanter:
The lid is equipped with the automatic filling
system. You can fill with water when the lid is
closed. The opening opens automatically as
soon as the stream of water falls on it. The
opening closes again when the stream of water
stops.
2. Filling using the sit-on filter receptacle:
On the other hand you fill the decanter using
the sit-on filtration system, patent-pending
technology. The filter can be removed and
thanks to the large opening it's easy to fill up
under the tap. A valve prevents the water
spilling out. This valve opens automatically when
the filter is placed on the lid or the filter is
inserted into the container. The filtered water
then flows through an opening into the decanter.
When filled up twice, there's space in the recep-
tacle for 2.6 litres.
After replacing the cartridge, we recommended
discarding the first full amount of filtered water or
use it for watering. Then fill the water decanter
again. It's possible that for the first few times the
decanter is filled black particles of activated char-
coal will be rinsed out. These are completely harm-
less to your health. In this case, however, we
recommended pouring away the water for as many
times as needed until it is clear.
Your WMF filter carafe is now ready for use.
Important Information Regarding Proper Use
The water filtration system may only be used for
cold water that meets the statutory requirements
for drinking water quality.
It is not suitable for producing drinking water from
contaminated water.
The filtered water is not intended to be kept for a
long period of time. It should be stored in a cool
location away from direct sunlight and for no
longer than 24 hours.
