INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
A) Lighting : (see illustration p. 9) remove
the bottom grid. Take three double
sheets of newspaper and scrumple them
up separately in the form of a torch. Fold
over one end on each torch. Insert these
sheets of newspaper into the pipe with
the folded ends at the top. return the
bottom grid and cover with dry charcoal
(tip : do not use too much charcoal when
lighting -- smaller coals make the ligh-
ting process easier). Open the air supply
with the air control and light the news-
papers through these openings with the
help of a long match. Burning paper is
all it takes to light the charcoal. The high
smoke output during the lighting process
is due to the newspaper. After about 15
minutes your Barbecook ® is ready for
use (the glowing charcoal will then be
covered with a fine layer of grey ashes).
We recommend that you wait to install
the cooking grid on the barbecue until it
is ready for use.
B) First use :
When using your Barbecook ® for the
first time, we strongly recommend that
you leave it to burn for 30 minutes wit-
hout cooking meals. This burn-in period
is necessary.
C) Regulating the fire :
The fire intensity can be easily adjusted
by opening or closing the air supply.
D) Maintenance
After use, remove the bottom grid
and brush the ashes to the middle of
the kettle. Subsequently release your
QuickStop ® from the Barbecook ® and
you can easily discard the water/ashes
mixture in a suitable area. In order to
clean stainless steel or chrome parts, it

is best to avoid aggressive, abrasive or
metal detergents. Use non-aggressive
detergents and allow them to penetrate.
Always use a soft sponge or cloth.
Rinse thoroughly and dry well before
storing the barbecue. Enamelled parts
are user-friendly; abrasive detergents
and sponges should not be used.
E) Storing the barbecue
In order to extend its service life, it is
recommended to protect it with a Barbe-
cook ® cover and to store it indoors or
in a dry place (under shelter) after each
use.
F) Moving the barbecue:
The carriage has four small wheels so it
is easy to move the appliance. It must
NOT be moved when in use. Engage
the two brakes on the wheels so that
your appliance remains stable. Once it
has cooled down, you can take off the
brakes and move the appliance.
