Automatic flushing (factory setting: not activated)
The automatic flushing serves to maintain water hygiene in the
case of long-term non-utilisation of the fitting and activates
water flow for 5 minutes, 3 days after the last use.
Safety notes:
- Ensure free draining in the case of activated automatic
flushing.
- For automatic flushing of the hot and cold water lines, the
fitting must be in the mixed water position.
Switching automatic flushing On / Off
Warning
Do not stay in the wet area.
Use suitable aids.
Please proceed as follows:
1. Press actuating cap (D), see Fig. [2].
2. Release the actuating cap; water flow commences.
3. With water running, press the actuating cap again and hold
(approx. 5 s) until the water flow is interrupted for 1 s.
4. Continue to press and hold the actuating cap (approx. 5 s)
until the water flow is again interrupted for 1 s.
5. Continue to press the actuating cap (approx. 5 s) until the
water flow is again interrupted for 1 s.
6. By pressing the actuating cap twice (double click) within the
next 2 s, switch the automatic flushing on or off.
Pulsating water jet indicates the setting:
- 4 water pulses = Automatic flushing is switched on
- 2 water pulses = Automatic flushing is switched off
For each switching, the procedure must be repeated starting
from 1.
Adjusting
For temperature adjustment, see Figs. [3] and [4].
• Before the fitting is put into service; if the mixed water
temperature measured at the point of discharge varies from
the specified temperature set on the thermostat.
• After each maintenance operation on the thermostatic
cartridge.
1. Initiate water flow and measure the temperature of the water
using a thermometer, see Fig. [3].
2. Turn the temperature selection handle (E) until the water
temperature reaches 30 °C.
3. Remove screw (E1) and detach handle cap (E), see Fig. [4].
4. Remove screw (F) and pull off scale handle (G).
5. Attach the scale handle (G) so that the 30 °C mark on the
handle aligns with the mark (H) on the fitting housing and
fasten with screw (F).
6. Attach handle cap (E) and fasten with screw (E1).
Reversed union (hot on right - cold on left).
Replace thermostatic cartridge 47 217, see Replacement
parts, fold-out page I, order no.: 47 657.
Regulate hot water end stop, see Fig. [5].
With this thermostat fitting, the hot water end stop can be set
to between 35 °C and 45 °C.
1. Set the temperature to 20 °C.
2. Remove screw (E1) and detach handle cap (E).
3. Remove screw (F) and detach scale handle (G).
Caution: Adjusting nut (I) must not be adjusted.
5
4. Detach red end stop (J) and reattach with the arrow (J1)
pointing to the maximum desired temperature.
5. Attach scale handle (G) so that the 20 °C mark on the scale
handle aligns with the mark (H) on the fitting housing and
fasten with screw (F).
6. Attach handle cap (E) and fasten with screw (E1).
Set continuous running time to 3.5 min or 11 min
Warning
Do not stay in the wet area.
Use suitable aids.
Please proceed as follows:
1. Remove screw (E1) and detach handle cap (E), see Fig. [5].
2. Turn scale handle (G) to the hot water end stop.
3. Press actuating cap (D), see Fig. [2].
4. Release the actuating cap; water flow commences.
5. With water running, press the actuating cap again and hold
(approx. 5 s) until the water flow is interrupted for 1 s.
a) 3.5 min:
- Release actuating cap.
- By pressing the actuating cap twice (double click) within
the next 2 s, start continuous running for 3.5 min.
b) 11 min:
- Continue to press and hold the actuating cap (approx. 5 s)
until the water flow is again interrupted for 1 s.
- Release actuating cap.
- By pressing the actuating cap twice (double click) within
the next 2 s, start continuous running for 11 min.
6. Turn scale handle (G) back to cold water end stop and
install handle cap (E), see Fig. [5].
Points 1, 2, and 6 must only be performed in the case of
thermal disinfection.
Prevention of frost damage
When the domestic water system is drained, thermostats must
be drained separately, since non-return valves are installed in
the hot and cold water connections.
For this purpose, the thermostat must be removed from the
wall.
Maintenance
Inspect and clean all components and replace if necessary.
I. Cartridge
The battery must be replaced 10 years after initial operation of
the fitting, at the latest.
Batteries which are almost discharged are indicated by a
pulsating water jet.
1. Remove screw (K), see Fig. [6].
2. Pull out cartridge (L) with battery (M).
3. Take out battery (M), check the contacts, clean and, if
necessary, replace the battery.
4. Actuate cartridge (L) once by pressing the actuating cap.
5. Insert new battery (M).
6. The fitting is now in installation mode for 3 minutes; no
water flows on actuation.
7. Insert cartridge (L) with battery (M) in the fitting and fasten
with screw (K).
8. Installation mode is terminated after 3 min or by pressing the
actuating cap twice (double click) within 2 s.
