Initial starting instructions:
For the first 5 tank fulls, avoid over-reving the
engine when no load is applied. Also when
using standard 2-cycle oil, we recommend a
ratio of 25 : 1 (4%).
- Do not use near open fires or while
smoking. (illustration 2).
- Let the engine cool off, prior to refueling.
- Gasoline may contain harmful solvent-
like substances. Avoid skin and eye
contact. Wear protective gloves when
refueling. Change protective clothing
often. Do not inhale gasoline vapors.
- Do not spill any gasoline or oil. Clean
brushcutter immediately if
gasoline or oil is spilled. Avoid spilling
gasoline on clothing. Change clothing
immediately in case of spills.
- Be careful that fuel or oil does not spill
onto the ground (illustration 2) (environ
mental protection). Use cardboard or a
mat for protection.
- Do not refuel in enclosed areas. Fuel
vapors collect near the ground (danger
of explosion) (illustration 2).
- Transport and store gasoline and oil only
in authorized and marked containers.
Make fuel and oil inaccessible to
children.
- Take care not to inhale exhaust fumes.
Do not use the brushcutter in enclosed areas.
Handling gasoline requires great
care. Be sure to observe all safety
recommendations!
Refuel only with the engine off.
- Thoroughly clean dirt from around the
fuel tank cap to keep it from falling in
the tank when the cap is removed.
- Be careful when opening the fuel tank lid.
Any excess pressure in the tank may cause fuel
spray.
