actuator.
&
Do not remove or alter the labels applied by the
manufacturer on the actuator.
&
This device is not suitable for use by persons
(including children) with reduced physical, sensorial or
mental capacity, or lack of expertise, unless supervised
and instructed in the use of the device by a person
responsible for their safety. Children must be supervised
to ensure that they do not play with the device.
&
In case of doubt relative to the operation of the
actuator, do not use it, and contact the manufacturer.

SAFETY DEVICES

Protection against electrical hazard: The actuator is
protected against electrical hazard from direct and
indirect contact.
The protective measures against direct contacts serve to
protect people from the dangers deriving from contact
with live parts that are normally powered. The protective
measures against indirect contacts serve to protect
people from the dangers deriving from contact with
conductive parts that are normally insulated, but which
could become live due to malfunctions (breakage of the
insulation).
The protective measures adopted are as follows:
1.Insulation of live parts with a shell in plastic material
2.Sheathing with an adequate degree of protection;
3.Passive type protection consisting of the use of parts
with double insulation, also known as parts in class II, or
with equivalent insulation.

INSTALLATION
5.1

GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS

Installation of the actuator must be made
exclusively by qualified technical personnel in
possession of the professional requisites foreseen
by the legislation in force in the country of
installation.
The actuator must always be installed with the window in
the closed position.
It is strictly prohibited to install the actuator on the
&
outside of the window subject to atmospheric agents
(rain, snow, etc.).
It is strictly prohibited to use the actuator in rooms with
&
a potentially explosive atmosphere.
The distance "X" between the two ends of the chain
&
C240, can have a tolerance of + / - 2.5 mm.
Check the adequacy of the window and the suitability
&
of the materials of the window and/or frame on which the
actuator will be fastened and it must ensure a good
support of the actuator-window assembly during the

SAFETY PLATES
Do not remove, move, damage or hinder the visibility of
the safety labels on the actuators. Failure to comply with
this rule may cause grave damage to persons and
property. The manufacturer considers itself entirely
relieved of any liability for damage caused by failure to
heed this warning.
Fig.6 shows the safety label: it must be applied directly to
the outside of the actuator or near it and, in any case, in a
position clearly visible by the installer and/or operator.

RESIDUAL HAZARDS

We inform the installer and user that after installation of
the actuators on the windows, automatic operation of
them may accidentally cause the following residual risk:
- Residual risk: Danger of crushing or dragging parts of
the body placed between the mobile and the fixed part of
the window.
- Frequency of exposure: Accidental, and when the
installer or user decides to perform an improper action
voluntarily.
- Dimension of the damage: Minor injuries, normally
treatable.
- Measures applied: Obligation, before using, to
ascertain that there are no persons, animals or objects
near the window that could accidentally be injured.
Obligation, during use of the actuator, to be in a safe
position that ensures visual control of the window's
movement.
movement.
Before installing the actuator always check:
&
- that the thrust or traction force of the actuator is sufficient
to ensure correct movement of the window depending on
the type and weight; do not exceed the parameters listed
in Table 1- para.3.3;
- that the window to be opened and closed has a minimum
height as listed in the tables shown in Fig.8a-8b for top-
hinged windows, Fig.20 for bottom-hinged windows and
Fig. 31 for dome windows;
- that for bottom-hinged windows two compass-type limit
switches are installed on both sides or on the window, or
other safety device to ensure that the window cannot fall
accidentally;
- that the fastening surface of the snap fastener is
perfectly flat and/or leveled.
TOPP has chosen to calibrate the stroke length
of the actuator in the factory during assembly,
after which neither the installer nor user can
change it.
