3. DOORBELL WITH ADDRESSING 16-601 & 16-602
3.1. Description
De doorbell module with intelligence is provided with an RJ45 input for connecting the UTP cable
coming from the 16-651. If no UTP cable is at your disposal, you can use a transition piece 16-679-01
for the transition from screw connector to RJ45. There are two types of intelligent doorbells.
Doorbell 16-601 is provided with a plexiglass cover cap. Behind the cover cap, you can place a
name card for personalization (16-601-99). Please send a completed form for custom-made goods
(available at Niko, from the wholesaler and the sales representatives of Niko) to Niko NV (address
at the back of this user manual).
The aluminium push button of doorbell 16-602 can be personalized on demand by engraving a
house number, name, logo... (ref. for custom-made goods: 16-602-99). Please send a completed

of Niko) to Niko NV (address at the back of this user manual).
The doorbell module with intelligence can be extended with normal bell push buttons (max. 5). This
module is used in combination with other modules from the range Access Control Design.
3.2. Installation
The doorbell module with intelligence is provided with a dip switch to set the address of the external
unit (fig.2). The switches must be placed in the same position as the switches on the 16-651, to
which you connect the doorbell (see user manual 16-651). To modify the dip switch, open the doorbell
module by means of the 4 Allen screws at the back of the module. Gently remove the plastic cover
cap. There is some adhesive between the cover cap and the module. This could cause you some
difficulties in removing the cover cap. If this is the case, use a small screwdriver.
