7. Insert the starter cord through the hole in the starter
housing and the starter handle. Make a secure knot
in the end of the starter cord.

To change a broken recoil spring
1. Lift up the starter pulley. See instructions under the

2. Remove the cassette with the recoil spring from the
starter.
WARNING: Remember that the recoil
spring is coiled under tension in the
starter housing!
3. Lubricate the recoil spring with light oil and fit the
cassette with recoil spring in the starter.

To tension the recoil spring
1. Hook the starter cord in the notch in the pulley.
2. Turn the starter pulley about 2 turns clockwise.
Note: Make sure that the pulley can be turned at least a
1/2 turn further when the starter cord is pulled all the way
out.
3. Stretch the line using the starter handle.
4. Move your thumb and release the line.
