Emptying/cleaning the screen insert

Carry out the following operations after every use of the appliance
in order to retain the proper function of the appliance and prevent
mould from forming:
Remove the screen carrier (7) with screen insert (6) from the
‹
appliance as described in chapter Removing the screen
carrier.
Fold up the retaining bracket (14) on the handle of the screen
‹
carrier.
Hold the screen insert firmly with the folded up retaining bracket
‹
and tap the used coffee out of the screen insert (6) over the
waste bin.
NOTE
Use a spoon if the used coffee does not come loose.

Remove the screen insert (6) from the screen carrier (7) and
‹
rinse out the screen insert and screen carrier under running
water.
Remove the cup rest (10).
‹
Raise the drip tray (9) slightly at the front and carefully pull it out
‹
of the appliance to the front.
Empty the drip tray and rinse it out with warm water.
‹
Clean the cup rest (10) using a damp cloth.
‹
Install the drip tray and cup rest in the appliance again after
‹
drying.
