6. Remove sawdust and dirt from around
the chain wheel, lubrication hole,
lubrication channel and chain tensioner
bolt before re� tting the blade.
7. If you turn the chain each time after
you have sharpened the chain, it will
wear down more evenly and will last for
longer.
Periodic engine maintenance
Air � lter
Clean the air � lter regularly. Remove the
air � lter cover (5, j) and take out the � lter
element (k).
Wash the � lter element in warm water with
a little detergent. Allow it to dry fully and
pour a little clean oil onto it before replacing
it. Wipe the inside of the � lter cover with a
damp cloth. If the � lter element is worn or
defective, it should be replaced.

Spark plug
Unscrew the spark plug cap (i) and screw
out the spark plug (h) using the spark plug
spanner (29).
If the spark plug is very sooty, clean or
replace it. Always replace with the same type.
Use a feeler gauge to check the gap between
the spark plug electrodes regularly. It should
be 0.6 to 0.7 mm. Adjust if necessary.
