Troubleshooting

Problem
The engine will not
start.
The engine starts,
but dies again.
There is a lot of
smoke coming from
the exhaust.
The engine runs, but
the attachment does
not rotate.
The machine is
not performing
optimally.
The pruning saw
attachment is
not functioning
correctly.

Possible cause
1. The air � lter is blocked.
2. The engine is � ooded.
3. The spark plug is loose.
4. The spark plug cap is not
positioned correctly.
5. There is no more fuel in the fuel
tank.

The choke is incorrectly adjusted.
2.
The carburettor is incorrectly
adjusted.
1.
The ratio between petrol and two-
stroke oil is incorrect.

The attachment is incorrectly
� tted.
2.
The attachment is blocked.
3.
The clutch is defective.
1.
The machine is overloaded.
2.
The cutting tool is blunt.
1.
The chain needs sharpening.
2.
The chain is too tight or too weak.
3.
The chain is not � tted correctly.
4.
The chain is not suffi ciently
lubricated.
Solution
1. Clean or replace the air � lter.
2. Remove the spark plug, wipe it
with a clean cloth and replace it.
3.
Tighten the spark plug.
4.
Push the spark plug cap securely
onto the spark plug.
5.
Fill up with fuel.

Adjust the choke correctly.
2.
Contact a professional.

Empty the fuel tank and re� ll with
40:1 oil/petrol mixture.

Fit the attachment correctly.
2.
Remove the blockage.
3.
Contact a professional.

Cut or saw in two separate passes.
2.
Grind or � le the cutting tool.

File the chain.
2.
Tighten the chain correctly.
3.
Turn the chain correctly.
4.
Re� ll the chainsaw oil. Make
sure the lubrication hole and
lubrication channel are not
blocked.
