2. Description
2.1 Purpose
The OXYMAT 3 oxygen concentrator is de-
signed to increase the oxygen content (O
the air that you breathe.
Oxygen therapy is an important medical
measure. For many serious disorders of the
respiratory organs and cardiovascular system
it is the only meaningful therapy possible. Ox-
ygen (O
) therapy is the most commonly used

prophylactic or therapeutic measure in cases
of impending or already existing hypoxia.
If you need continuous administration of air
with an increased oxygen content, a reserve
supply from an oxygen cylinder must always
be assured in case of emergency (e.g. power
failure) (see "5.6 Tips" page 96). Ask your
doctor whether an emergency supply is nec-
essary in your particular case.
