Treating scalds
•
Run cold water over the affected area immediately. Do not
stop to remove clothing, get medical help quickly.
Choice of coffee
•
Choose a ground filter specific coffee to use with this
machine.
Note: Avoid blends that are very powdery. When the coffee
is too finely ground it may block the filter.
ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS
Check that the voltage on the rating plate of your appliance
corresponds with your house electricity supply which must
be A.C. (Alternating current).
WARNING: This appliance must be earthed.

For appliances with fitted plug.
If the socket outlets in your home are not suitable for the
plug supplied with this appliance the plug should be
removed and the appropriate one fitted.
IMPORTANT : THE PLUG REMOVED FROM THE MAINS
LEAD, IF SEVERED, MUST BE DESTROYED AS A PLUG
WITH A BARED FLEXIBLE CORD IS HAZARDOUS IF
ENGAGED INTO A LIVE SOCKET OUTLET.
Where used, should the fuse in the 13 amp plug require
changing a 13 amp BS1362 fuse must be fitted.

OPERATING THE APPLIANCE
Before use
Before using your coffee maker for the first time or if you
have not used it for some time, rinse the machine by
running water through. Follow the procedure for making
coffee, without coffee in the filter holder.
The product that you have purchased is available in two
different versions:

Manual version
•
24 hour automatic timer version
For the complete understanding of how to use your
machine, please refer to the specific section related to your
version.

countries, please contact your retailer for more information.
MANUAL INTERFACE VERSION
Making coffee

Press the water reservoir release button › to remove the
water reservoir ‡ and fill with the required amount of
water using the level indicator fl as a guide. The water
level indicator is marked in cups A. Do not overfill past the
10 cups mark.

The manual version of the Arc coffee maker features a
quick refill cap on the top of the unit B. Simply twist the
cap to unlock and fill with the required amount of water
using the level indicator fl as a guide.

Press the coffee filter release button ‹ to open the filter
compartment. The compartment will automatically open.

Ensure the filter is sitting properly in the filter holder C.
Spoon the required amount of ground filter coffee into the
mesh filter ‰, spreading evenly D. We suggest two level
measuring spoon for every cup (20 spoons maximum).

Close the compartment, ensure the filter compartment is
closed and latched properly. Otherwise the machine will not
function correctly.

Slide the carafe · into the coffee maker, because there is
no hot plate, please ensure the carafe sits correctly on the
base recess.

Ensure the jug lid is fully closed by turning the lid lock
clockwise ‚, this ensures the maximum temperature is
maintained in the jug. To ensure the coffee is kept as warm
as possible, we advise you rinse your thermal carafe in hot
water before use.
•
Please note the jug lid must be in place during the brewing
process; otherwise the non-drip valve will not open,
causing the filter to flood.

Plug the filter coffee maker in at the wall socket and switch
on, if applicable, press either the full carafe power on/off
button ⁄ or the half carafe power on off button ¤,
depending on the number of cups required. The relevant
button will illuminate.
