1.0 INTRODUCTION

This manual gives instructions for installation, use and maintenance of the "SERIES M FOUR COLUMNS ELECTRO-HYDRAULIC VEHICLES
LIFT", a system to be used in workshops for the lifting of vehicles, manufactured by AGM-COS-MET srl of Montebello (VI), in Italy. In the fol-
lowing descriptions the four columns vehicle lifting device will be simply called "lift".
The lift, in its various versions, is manufactured with four simmetrical vertical structures, called columns. Between the columns are fi tted two
cross beams supporting the two lifting platforms.
The machine operates as follows: the electric motor activated hydraulic pump delivers oil to the cyilinder fi xed on the main lifting platform
which, through a system of ropes connected to the summit of each column, raises the two platforms.
The various versions differ for the length of the lifting platforms and for the distance between the lift columns to accomodate the vehicles:
• The version "M 42" has a maximum load capacity of 4000 kg, is equipped with simple-type lifting platforms with a length of 4800 mm and
has a distance between the columns of 4425 mm.
• The version "M 42 AL" has a maximum load capacity of 4000 kg, is equipped with lifting platforms with a length of 4800 mm, with front
seats for simple-type rotating plates and a distance of 4425 between the columns.
• The version "M 42 ALB" has a maximum load capacity of 4000 kg, is equipped with lifting platforms with a length of 4800 mm, with front
seats for rotating plates, with rear oscillating plates and a distance of 4425 between the columns.
• The version "M 43" has a maximum load capacity of 4000 kg, is equipped with simple-type lifting platforms with a length of 5100 mm and
has a distance between the columns of 4725 mm.
• The version "M 43 AL" has a maximum load capacity of 4000 kg, is equipped with lifting platforms with a length of 5100 mm, with front
seats for simple-type rotating plates and a distance of 4725 between the columns.
•The version "M 43 ALB" has a maximum load capacity of 4000 kg, is equipped with lifting platforms with a length of 5100 mm, with front
seats for rotating plates, with rear oscillating plates and a distance of 4725 between the columns.
•The version "M 50" has a maximum load capacity of 5000 kg, is equipped with simple-type lifting platforms with a length of 5100 mm and
has a distance between the columns of 4725 mm.
•The version "M 50 AL" has a maximum load capacity of 5000 kg, is equipped with lifting platforms with a length of 5100 mm, with front
seats for simple-type rotating plates and a distance of 4725 between the columns.
If the instructions given in this manual are correctly observed, the machine will work regularly and economically for a long period of time.
The fi nal section gives a list of spare parts.
It is mandatory to keep to what is written in this manual. The Constructor Company declines any responsibility due to negligence and
nonobservanceof these instructions.
Not observing the instructions given in this manual automatically invalidates the guarantee.

1.1 WARRANTY

AGM-COS.MET guarantees the lift and its accessories for a period of 24 months from the date of purchase. The guarantee includes the repair
or replacement of all those parts that, after careful inspection by the Manufacturer's After Sales Service, are proven to have been defective at
the origin. All electrical parts are excluded. The guarantee is limited to the faulty materials only and it is not applicable in case the returned
parts have been tampered with or have been disassembled by unauthorized personnel.
Excluded from the guarantee is the liability for direct or indirect damages to persons, animals or properties, due to break-down or malfunction-
ing of the machine. The replacement of lubricants, transportation, custom duties, VAT and all other costs not mentioned in the purchase order,
are in all cases to be paid by the purchaser. The replacement of part under warranty does extend the warranty period.
The purchaser is entitled to pursue its warranty rights only if all guarantee conditions have been fulfi lled, referring in case to its specifi c pur-
chase contract.
Only the Tribunal of Vicenza will be competent for all litigations arising from the contract, should these not be settled by way of arbitration, or in
any other case where a court decision is required.
1.1.1 AUSSSCHLUSS AUS DER GARANTIE
Upon delivery it is necessary to check that the goods are not damaged by transportation and that the set of accessories is complete.
Claims must be made within 8 days from the date of delivery of the hoist.
Further to the cases that are foreseen on the sale contract, the warranty is not applicable by:
• Faulty operation or mistake by the operator.
• Damages due to inadequate maintenance.
• Exceeding the hoist nominal load capacity.
• Damages due to the modifi cation of the machine, to repairs carried out by the customer without authorization of AGM-COS.MET, to the
installation of not original spare parts.
•Non-respect of the instructions described in the operator's manual.

1.2 CE CERTIFICATION

The directive 98/37/CE, commonly known as "Machine Directive", defi nes the conditions to be met in order to introduce a machine into the
market. The mentioned directive says that any type of machine can be sold and put into operation, only if it does not jeopardize the safety and
the health of persons, animals and properties. Previous to the marketing of the lift and in order to attest its conformity to the above mentioned
directive, AGM-COS.MET applied a qualifi ed Certifi cation Offi ce to carry out a test on one machine. The lift, manufactured according to the
directions of the 98/37/Ce directive, did succesfully pass the test and can therefore be sold in the market without jeopardizing the operator.
