The helmet may be damaged and rendered ineffective by substances such as petrol [gasoline], solvents,
hydrocarbons, transfers or other extraneous additions, paint, adhesives, cleaning agents as well as prolonged
sunlight or excessive heat. This damage may not be visible to the user. Store your helmet in a cool, dry place. Do
not allow any heat source to come near your helmet at any time. No attachments or modification should be made
to the helmet except those recommended by Troy Lee Designs. Only use replacement parts from Troy Lee Designs.
Modifying or removing any of the original component parts of the helmet other than as recommended by Troy Lee
Designs can cause the helmet to lose its protective effectiveness. This helmet should not be adapted for the
purpose of fitting accessories in a way not recommended by Troy Lee Designs.
The helmet is designed to be retained by a strap under the lower jaw. For maximum protection the helmet must be
fitted and attached properly to the wearer's head in accordance with the users manual. This helmet can only
protect if it fits well. Try different sizes and choose the size that feels secure and comfortable on the head. Securely
fasten retention system. Grasp the helmet and try to rotate it to the front and rear. A correctly fitted helmet
should be comfortable and should not move forward to obscure vision or rearward to expose the forehead. Never
wear your helmet with the buckle unfastened.
Helmet adjustment can change during riding or storage. Check the helmet for proper adjustment and fit prior to
each and every bicycle ride.
Do not wear anything (scarf, bandana, winter cap, hair clip, etc.) under your helmet as anything under the helmet,
including long hair worn up, may increase the likelihood of your helmet coming off during an accident or may
otherwise increase the likelihood of brain or other injury and or may otherwise reduce the effectiveness of the
helmet.
The helmet is designed to absorb shock by partial destruction of the shell and
liner (see diagram on previous page). This damage may not be visible.
Therefore, if subjected to a severe blow, the helmet should be destroyed and
replaced even if it appears undamaged, or return it to www.troyleede-
signs.com. If helmet shows signs of damage, destroy and replace it. Inspect
your helmet for wear or damage (such as cracks in the EPS as seen from inside
the helmet or dents on the surface) prior to every ride. NEVER use a damaged
helmet.
