Troubleshooting
If the device does not work properly, check whether you are able to rectify the problem yourself.
If the problem cannot be solved with the steps that are listed, contact the customer service
department.
Do not attempt to repair an electrical device yourself!
Problem
The device cannot be
switched on.
The fuse in the fuse box
is triggered.
Water runs out of the
device.
The coffee runs very
slowly out of the coffee
outlet (4).
The coffee is too weak.
The coffee does not
taste very good.

Possible cause
The mains plug is not inserted
correctly in the plug socket.
The plug socket is defective.
There is no mains voltage.
Too many devices connected to
the same circuit.
There is too much water in the
water tank (9).
The coffee outlet is blocked.
The anti-drip valve is blocked.
The device is furred up.
There is too much water in the
water tank.
There is not enough coffee
powder in the permanent
fi lter (2).
The device needs to be cleaned.
The coffee has been too fi nely or
too coarsely ground (in a coffee
mill).
The coffee/water mixture is not
ideal.
The water quality is not good.
Fix
Correct the fi t of the mains plug.
Try another plug socket.
Check the fuse of the mains
connection.
Reduce the number of devices in
the circuit.
Do not overfi ll the water tank!
Clean the coffee outlet.
Remove the blockage.
Descale the device (see the
"Cleaning and Care" chapter –
"Descaling").
Only pour the quantity of water
required for the number of
cups you want into the water
tank (see the "Handling and
Operation" chapter – "Filling the
Water Tank").
Pour the quantity of coffee
required for the number of cups
you want into the permanent fi lter
(see the "Preparation" chapter).
Clean the device (see the
"Cleaning and Care" chapter).
Adjust the grinding fi neness of
the coffee or use another coffee
powder.
Adjust the mixture to your own
individual taste.
Check the water quality and fi lter
the water if necessary.
