! Installation must be conducted by a qualified technician using the
instructions provided.
!
Wear gloves during installation and maintenance tasks.
Damaged power cables must be replaced by the manufacturer or their
technical service department, or by a person with similarly qualified, to
avoid danger of any kind.
Warning: Insertion of screws, even when observing these instructions,
still poses an electrical hazard.
VENTILATION EXHAUST AIR
(for models with ventilation)
! Create a hole for the ventilation pipe (diameter 150 mm).
! Avoid using ventilation pipes that are longer than strictly necessary.
! Use ventilation pipes with as few bends as possible (they should bend no
more than 90°).
! There should be no abrupt changes made to the ventilation pipe's
diameter.
! The internal surface of the ventilation pipe must be as smooth as possible.
! The ventilation pipe must be made from a material that meets current
legal requirements in this field.
! Do not connect the hood to ventilation pipes for smoke from
combustion processes (furnaces, woodburning stoves, cookers,
etc.).
! Air ventilation systems must meet the requirements set by public
authorities.
In addition, air must not be ventilated through cavities in the walls,
unless this cavity has been specifically designed for this purpose.
! Ensure enough ventilation in the room to avoid an underpressure being
created (0.04 mbar is the maximum). If the hood is being used at the
same time as non-electrical appliances (e.g. gas-, oil- or coal-fired
cookers), exhaust gases may be sucked in from the heat source.
FILTER OR EXTRACTION?
There are two versions of the hood available – with filter or with extraction.
A decision must be made on the type of hood prior to installation.
For maximum efficiency, we recommend using the extraction version
wherever possible.
Version with extraction
The hood cleans the air and removes it through the extraction pipe
(diameter 150 mm).
Version with filter
The hood cleans the air and blows the cleaned air back into the building.
For hoods fitted with an electronic command only: The 4th speed
setting (intensive) is decreased automatically to the 3rd speed setting
after five minutes of operation. This ensures optimal energy
consumption.
If left on (light and/or motor), the hood switches to OFF mode after ten
hours unless the user takes action; this will turn off all functions.
A 'beep' can be heard every time the user executes an action via the
keypad or remote control (optional).
If there is a power cut while the hood is in use, the hood will turn off
automatically, with the equipment's button then set to the OFF position.
You will need to restart the motor manually.
OPERATION
Key A: light switch.
Key B: ON/OFF power switch for motor at speed I. Key C:
switch for speed II.
Key D: switch for speed III.
MAINTENANCE
! Make sure that the hood is turned off prior to cleaning or
maintenance.
Cleaning the hood
WHEN TO CLEAN: clean at least once every other month to avoid fire
hazards.
EXTERNAL CLEANING: use a damp cloth wrung out in lukewarm water
and a non-abrasive cleaning agent (if the hood is painted). If hoods are
made from steel, copper or brass, use products specifically for these.
INTERNAL CLEANING: use a cloth (or a brush) dipped in methylated
spirit.
AVOID THE FOLLOWING: do not use abrasive or corrosive products (e.g.
steel wool cloths, brushes that are too stiff, highly abrasive cleaning agents,
etc.).
Cleaning the grease filter
WHEN TO CLEAN: clean at least once every other month
to avoid fire hazards, depending on usage.
HOW TO REMOVE THE FILTERS: push the fastening mechanism next to
the lever back, while at the same time pushing the filter down.
HOW TO CLEAN THE FILTERS:Wash by hand, or in a dishwasher, using
a non-abrasive cleaning agent. The filters may become discoloured if they
are cleaned in a dishwasher, but this will not affect their function in any
way.
Replacing the carbon filters
(hoods with filters only)
WHEN TO REPLACE: replace at least once every six months, depending
on usage.
HOW TO REMOVE THE FILTER: when using the filter version of the
device, you will need to replace the carbon filter. Replace the filter
and put the filter holder (M) back in place.
Lighting
If the LED light gets destroyed, it should be replaced by the manufacturer,
an authorised distributor or an individual with similar qualifications to avoid
all possible hazards.
