Installation and Connection

3.2 ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION

The following information is merely a guide for proper installation. Comply with applicable
local regulations for electrical installations.

Make sure the AC power supply is disconnected before starting the installation.

3.2.1 Electrical Interconnection

The electrical interconnection between the LSP and the machine must meet all the criteria and
standards of industrial electrical installation.
The connection of the cable wires of the safety device must be made through the safety relay terminals.
The two safety outputs must necessarily be used for safety level CAT 4 / SIL 3 / PL e and
connected to the safety relay and its safety contacts to the machine points predetermined by
the manufacturer.

3.2.1.1 Grounding

It is vital for the safe and stable operation of the LSP, the proper grounding in accordance with
current standards.
The grounding of the LSP, should not be shared with other high power equipment.
It is also recommended that the cables of emitter and receiver modules, not share the same
conduit or cable channel of high consumption.
These procedures are necessary in order to prevent through inductive and capacitive
coupling, high frequency transients and high voltage peaks may be detrimental to the good
performance of LSP.
