2. General safety precautions

Hazard from electrical power.
Working with electrical current may produce haz-
ardous situations. Touching live parts can result in
electrical shock, burns or death.
• Always follow the safety precautions and instruc-
...
tions given in this document.
- Work on mains voltage must only be performed
by qualified, skilled personnel.
- National wiring regulations and electrical
operating conditions must be observed
(
: VDE 100,
: ÖVE-ÖNORM E8001-1,
D
A
: SEV 1000).
- The luminaire must not be installed in poten-
tially explosive atmospheres.
- During installation, the electric power cable be-
ing connected must be dead and remain dead.
- The light must be protected by a circuit breaker
(10 A).
- Connection to a dimmer will damage the
luminaire.
- No more than twenty RS PRO LED B1 lumi-
naires must be connected in series.
- Do not coat or stick adhesive film to the lumi-
naire.
- Select a non-vibrating site of installation to
ensure proper working order.
...
Hazard from LED light!
Looking directly into the LED light when it is ON
could damage your retina.
• Never look into the LED luminaire at short range
or for any prolonged period (> 5 minutes).
– The luminaire must not be installed in potentially
explosive atmospheres.
– Select a non-vibrating site of installation to en-
sure proper working order.
– No changes or modifications must be made to
the product.
!
Hazard from vapours or electrolyte fluid!
Vapours or electrolyte fluid may escape from the
rechargeable battery if it is damaged or used im-
properly. Coming into contact with them may result
in severe injury (e.g. loss of sight, acid burns).
• Never open the rechargeable battery enclosure
or the rechargeable battery itself.
• Do not allow vapours or electrolyte fluid to come
into contact with your eyes. In the event of con-
tact with eyes:
– Do not rub your eyes.
– Immediately rinse eyes with plenty of clean
water (such as tap water).
– Seek medical advice.
• Do not touch any electrolyte fluid that has
escaped.
• Immediately move product away from naked
flamed or sources of heat.
• Immediately remove contaminated clothing.

Storage / transportation
The emergency light module and luminaire should
be stored and transported separately from each
other. Requiring no connection to mains power, the
emergency light module is immediately ready for
operation and switches ON when it is plugged into
the luminaire. The emergency light module has no
OFF switch. This means means it should only be
installed more or less immediately before use.
