Hair straightener

Dear Customer,
Before using the appliance, the user should
read the following instructions carefully.
Connection to the mains supply
Make sure that the supply voltage corresponds
with the voltage marked on the rating label.
This product complies with all binding CE
labelling directives.

Important safety instructions

Caution: do not use the
appliance in the vicinity of a
bath, shower or swimming-
pool, over a washbasin filled
with water or near any other receptacle
containing water.
Protect the appliance from moisture and
splashing water and do not operate it with
wet hands.
In the vicinity of any water source, there is
a risk even when the appliance is switched
off. Therefore, always remove the plug from
the wall socket after use, especially if the
appliance is being used in a bathroom.
Additional protection is available by fitting
an earth-leakage circuit-breaker with a rated
tripping current not exceeding 30mA into
your bathroom installation. Please consult a
qualified electrician.
Caution: The heating plates operate at
very high temperatures, and skin contact
with these parts may cause burns. Do not
touch any part of the appliance except the
smooth grip area.
As the heating plates operate at high
temperatures, contact with the hair should
be limited to a maximum of a few seconds
at a time.
Do not use the appliance on synthetic hair-
pieces or wigs; the heat emitted might
cause damage to the synthetic fibres.
Before the appliance is used, the main
body as well as any attachments fitted
should be checked thoroughly for any
defects. If the appliance, for instance, has
been dropped onto a hard surface, it must
no longer be used: even invisible damage
may have adverse effects on its operational
safety.
The power cord should be regularly
examined for any signs of damage. In the
event of such damage being found, the
appliance must no longer be used.
To prevent damage to the power cord,
- do not bend or kink the cable, especially
where it leaves the housing,
- do not pull on the cord,
- do not coil the cord around the appliance.
The appliance has a locking catch to save
space during storage and when travelling.
Before use, the catch must be disengaged
by pushing the locking button.
Do not leave the appliance unattended
while in use.
Take special care not to let any hot parts of
the appliance come into contact with the
scalp, ears or face.
Do not allow the power cord to touch hot
surfaces.
Always remove the plug from the wall
socket
- after use,
- in case of any malfunction, and
- before cleaning the appliance.
When removing the plug from the wall
socket, never pull on the power cord;
always grip the plug itself.
Do not operate the appliance when it is
