HOW TO OPERATE
Before first use, carefully unpack your COFFEE GRINDER, remove all packaging materials,
and then follow the cleaning instructions under the CLEANING & MAINTENANCE section.
TO GRIND:
1.
Place the grinder upright on a dry, sturdy and heat-resistant surface near an electrical outlet.
2.
Remove the Top Cover by twisting counterclockwise until unlocked. Lift out and set aside.
3.
Fill the Grinding Bowl with coffee beans to match the number of cups you wish to brew.
NOTE: 1 Oz. of beans will grind 4 cups of coffee. 3 Oz. (Max) will grind 12 cups of
coffee. Do not overfill (more than 3 oz.) or underfill (less than 1 oz.) the grinder.
4.
Place the Top Cover onto the Grinding Bowl and lock by turning clockwise.
5.
Hold Power button to grind. Let go to stop. Continue to grind until consistency
is where you would like it. NOTE: Do not operate continiously for more than
45 seconds. Allow cool down for at least one minute between cycles.
CAUTION: To check consistency of grounds, make sure grinder is turned
off and unplugged. Blades are sharp and may cause injury.
6.
Unplug power cord from electrical outlet.
7.
Remove Top Cover and pour coffee grounds out.
HELPFUL TIPS
•
The coarse grind is generally used for percolators and coffee urns. A medium
grind is used for drip coffee makers and steam-type espresso machines.
A fine grind is used for espresso machines with an electric pump.
•
Vary the grinding times to suit your taste and type of beans you grind.
•
For the freshest, most flavorful coffee, grind only enough for the pot you are making. Coffee
beans stay fresh for up to 2 months in the freezer in an airtight container and can be ground
while still frozen. Coffee grounds left in your grinder can become stale and affect the flavor
of freshly ground coffee. Be sure to clean grinding chamber, blades and cover after each use.
•
This grinder can only grind dry, brittle foods. It will not grind anything moist, extremely hard,
or gummy such as whole ginger, chocolate, sesame seeds or oily spices such as cinnamon,
cloves or nutmeg. Do not grind peanuts or grains such as wheat, rice, barley, or dried corn.
Attempting to grind any of these foods may damage the unit. Never use it to chop ice cubes.
•
Freshly ground peppercorns have a strong aroma and taste that may
affect the flavor of coffee beans ground afterward. You may want to
purchase a separate grinder if you plan to grind peppercorns.
