INSTALLATION
3.1

Installation regulations

Installation must be carried out by qualifi ed personnel, in accordance
with local regulations.
The Mynute Sinthesi C.S.I. boiler can be installed either indoors or
outdoors (but in a partially protected place):
Indoor installation: the boiler can be installed in various types of
room, as long as the combustion product discharge and combustion
air suction are outside the room itself. In this case, the room does
not require any ventilation opening because these are boilers with an
"airtight" combustion circuit in relation to the installation environment.
If combustion air is picked up from the installation room, the room must
be equipped with ventilation openings complying with the technical
standards and suitably dimensioned. Consider the clearances
necessary to access safety and adjustment devices and to perform
maintenance operations. Check that the electric protection level of
the appliance is suitable for the installation room characteristics. If the
boilers are supplied with fuel gas of a specific weight greater than that
of the air, the electric parts will have to be positioned more than 500mm
above ground level.
Outdoor installation in a partially protected place: the boiler must
be installed in a partially protected place - i.e. it must not be directly
exposed to atmospheric agents.
The boiler is fitted as standard with an automatic anti-freeze system
that activates when the temperature of the water in the primary circuit
falls below 5°C.
To take advantage of this protection (based on burner operation), the
boiler must be able to switch itself on; any lockout condition (e.g. a lack
of gas or electricity, or the intervention of a safety device) therefore
deactivates the protection.
For all outdoor installations in a partially protected place: if the
machine is left unpowered for long periods in areas where tem-
peratures may fall below 0°C, and you do not want to drain the
heating system, you are advised to add a specifi c, good quality
anti-freeze liquid to the primary circuit.
Carefully follow the manufacturer's instructions with regards not
only the percentage of anti-freeze liquid to be used for the minimum
temperature at which you want to keep the machine circuit, but also
the duration and disposal of the liquid itself. For the domestic hot
water part, we recommend you drain the circuit. The boiler component
materials are resistant to ethylene glycol based anti-freeze liquids.
Anti-freeze kits and upper cover kits are also available for boilers
installed outdoors in a partially protected place.
ANTI-FREEZE SYSTEM
The boiler is fitted as standard with an automatic anti-freeze system
that activates when the temperature of the water in the primary circuit
falls below 0 °C. This system is always active, guaranteeing boiler
protection to an outdoor temperature level of 0 °C. To take advantage
of this protection (based on burner operation), the boiler
must be able to switch itself on; any lockout condition (e.g. lack of gas/
electricity supply, or safety device intervention) therefore deactivates
the protection. The anti-freeze protection is also active when the boiler
is on standby. In normal operation conditions, the boiler can protect
itself against freezing. If the machine is left unpowered for long periods
in areas where temperatures may fall below 0 °C, and you do not
want to drain the heating system, you are advised to add a specific,
good quality anti-freeze liquid to the primary circuit. Carefully follow
the manufacturer's instructions with regards not only the percentage of
anti-freeze liquid to be used for the minimum temperature at which you
want to keep the machine circuit, but also the duration and disposal of
the liquid itself.
For the domestic hot water part, we recommend you drain the circuit.
The boiler component materials are resistant to ethylene glycol based
anti-freeze liquids.
MINIMUM DISTANCES
In order to have access to the boiler to perform regular maintenance
operations, respect the minimum spaces foreseen for installation (fi g. 9).
For correct appliance positioning, bear in mind that:
- it must not be placed above a cooker or other cooking device
- it is forbidden to leave infl ammable products in the room where the
boiler is installed
- heat-sensitive walls (e.g. wooden walls) must be protected with prop-
er insulation.
IMPORTANT
Before installation, wash all system piping carefully in order to remove
any residues that may impair the operation of the appliance. Connect
the discharge manifold to a suitable discharge system (for details, re-
fer to paragraph 3.7). The domestic hot water circuit does not need a
safety valve, but make sure that the pressure of waterworks does not
exceed 6 bar. If in doubt, install a pressure reducer. Prior to ignition,
make sure that the boiler is designed to operate with the gas available;
this can be checked by the wording on the packaging and by the ad-
hesive label indicating the gas type. It is very important to highlight that
in some cases the smoke pipes are under pressure and therefore, the
connections of several elements must be airtight.
3.2
Cleaning the system/characteristics of the
heating circuit water
In case of a new installation or replacement of the boiler, it is necessary
to clean the heating system.
In order to ensure the proper functioning of the product, after any
cleaning, additive and/or chemical treatments (e.g. antifreeze liquids,
fi lming agents, etc.) check that the parameters in the table are within
the indicated values.

Securing the wall-mounted boiler and hydraulic
connections
The boiler is supplied as standard with a boiler support plate with built-in
pre-assembly template (fi g. 10). The position and dimension of hydraulic
fi ttings are shown in the detail drawing.
In case of installation of the "Condense neutralizer tray" kit, before
proceeding to position the boiler, provide the necessary space (see
fi g. 11).
For the assembly, proceed as follows:
- secure the boiler support plate (F) using the pre-assembly template
(G) to the wall and use a spirit level to make sure that everything is
perfectly horizontal
- mark the 4 holes (ø 6 mm) envisaged for securing the boiler support plate
(F) and the 2 holes (ø 4 mm) for securing the pre-assembly template (G)
- make sure that all measurements are exact, then drill the wall using
drill tips with the diameters indicated above
- secure the plate (with the built-in template) to the wall using the plugs
supplied.
Make the hydraulic connections (fi g. 12)
The operations to install the boiler and connect it to the water and gas
supplies are now complete.
The position and size of the hydraulic connections are indicated below:

"FCR" (reduced condensation formation, fi g. 13) zone, the highest
delivery temperatures will be selected.
3.5
Electrical wiring
The boilers leave the factory fully wired, with the power cable already
connected. They require only the connection of the ambient thermostat
(TA) to the specifi c terminals (fi g. 6).
To access the terminal board:
- set the main system switch to OFF
- loosen the screws (A) that hold the housing in place (fi g. 14)
- move the housing base forwards and then upwards to unhook it from
the frame
- press the side buttons on the control panel
- rotate the control panel towards you
- remove the terminal board cover by loosening the screws (B) (fi g. 15)
The room thermostat must be connected as shown on the electrical
diagram.
Ambient thermostat input in safety low voltage.
The connection to the mains supply must be made via a separation
device with an omnipolar opening of at least 3.5mm (EN 60335-1,
category III). The appliance works with alternating current at 230 Volt/50
Hz, and complies with standard EN 60335-1.
It is compulsory to carry out connection with an effi cient earth
circuit, according to national and local legislation.
