9. The digital display keeps the user informed of progress:
- When the sealer is at rest the display shows the programmed sealing time.
- Once the "Start" button is pressed a countdown begins showing the time
remaining until the end of the suction stage.
- The sealing time countdown then starts.
10. The machine stops automatically once sealing is finished. The lid can be
raised gently after the beep which signals that it has been automatically
released.
SETTING SEALING TIME
The Professional Digit 15 vacuum sealer enables sealing time to be set by using
the digital display. With the machine at rest press the +/- keys to increase or
decrease the sealing time. The variation interval is 1 second per pulse.
Sealing time should be adjusted according to bag thickness and the sealing bar
temperature. Elma recommends a sealing time of 3 seconds.

3.3. Special functions

- Pulse function: use the "Pulse" key for increased precision when packing
fragile items manually. Suction of air from the bag will continue as long as the
key is pressed. It may be pressed intermittently for greater precision. Once
the desired vacuum level has been reached press the "Seal" key to begin the
sealing stage. Once this stage has finished the lid will be unlocked and emit a
beep.
- Accessory function: this function enables production of vacuums in special
recipients. Connect the suction tube to the recipient connector (Figure 1, point
4) and the other end to the recipient (the suction tube and recipients are not
included in the vacuum sealer). Press the "Accessory" key once the connec-
tions are in place to begin the suction process. Once the maximum vacuum
level is reached the machine will stop automatically. The recipient may then
be disconnected. This function can only be used with accessories designed
especially for vacuum packing.
