English
The R-08251 model is a practical sandblasting module, specially designed to microblast
small components of dental prostheses.
The unit should be used with a microblasting booth to prevent the dispersion of dust and grinding
particles thrown out during operation.
INSTALLATION
• Carefully unpack the unit.
• Micro-blasting modules should be used with booths equipped with exhausters. Set up the unit
on a flat, rigid surface away from any sources of vibration or heat, and in an environment
which is not too humid. Too much humidity could lead grinding particles to compact in the
booth and clog the micro-blasting nozzles.
• Connect the tube provided (A) to an air outlet at a pressure of no more than 5 bar.
• Locate the pedal of the micro-blasting gun (D) within reach of your foot, in a position where it
can be worked comfortably.
• Remove the threaded stopper on the tank (E) and fill the vessel with a grinding medium with a
particle diameter of less than 250 microns. The grinding medium should be at least 30 mm
below the rim of the brass tube. Grinding medium heights of less than 35 mm are not
recommended (see figure). Screw the tank stopper back in place, ensuring that the seal is leak-
tight.
PRESSURE REGULATION
The blowing pressure of the micro-blasting gun is the same as the pressure at the air outlet
(compressor). This pressure may be regulated between 2 and 5 bars to suit the nature and
characteristics of the work in hand.
PRESSURE SHOULD NEVER EXCEED 5 BARS. To adjust the pressure use the pressure
regulator, which limits the output pressure from the compressed air unit.
To adjust the pressure in the micro-blasting module (R-080250 only), pull up the pressure
regulator knob (B) beside the grinding medium vessel and turn it to the desired setting.
The pressure is shown on the pressure gauge (C) built into the regulator. Once pressure is
selected, press the regulating knob back down to lock it.
USING THE UNIT
To micro-blast workpieces correctly, proceed as follows:
1. Check that the level of grinding medium in the micro-blasting module vessel is within the
limits for work.
2. Use suitable protective goggles and a face-mask, and work in a booth equipped with an
exhauster.
3. Start up the exhauster.
4. To use the micro-blasting gun, press the operating pedal.
