ANOMALIES. PROBABLE CAUSES. POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS.

SYMPTOM. ANOMALY.
GENERAL PROBLEM.
NOTHING WORKS.
LIMITER TRIPS.
DIFFERENTIAL
CIRCUIT BREAKER
TRIPS.
AMBER LED ON.
THE ELECTRODE
BURNS IN TIG
WELDING
THE EQUIPMENT
HEATS UP
ABNORMALLY.
THE THERMAL
PROTECTION
ACTIVATES
QUICKLY.
SPECIALIZED PERSONNEL MUST CARRY OUT ANY WORK ON THE EQUIPMENT.
BOTH AT THE BEGINNING AND END OF A REPAIR CHECK THE EQUIPMENT INSULATION LEVELS.
DISCONNECT THE ELECTRONIC BOARDS WHEN MEASURING THE INSULATION.
BLOW THE INSIDE OF THE EQUIPMENT WITH COMPRESSED AIR.
The insulation-measuring device will have 500 V D.C. and will be applied to the following points of the circuit:
Power supply - Earth tap: Ra > 50 Mohms.
Welding - Earth tap: Ra > 50 Mohms.
Power supply - Welding: Ra > 50 Mohms.
BEFORE TURNING THE EQUIPMENT ON, ENSURE THAT IT IS OFF LOAD.
DO NOT OPERATE THE ON/OFF SWITCH WITH AN ELECTRICAL LOAD CONNECTED TO
GALAXY 3000 GE MV VRD
PROBABLE CAUSE.
The machine has no voltage in
one or all its vital elements.
ON/OFF switch faulty.
Auxiliary transformer or electronic
plate are damaged.
Magnetothermal switch has low
gauge for the case. There may be
a short circuit, which is what
causes the limiter to trip.
Active part of the machine has
connected with the housing.
Active protection system. Amber
light on. DL4 (Rth).
Excessive welding intensity for a
certain electrode.
Use of reverse polarity.
Lack of protection gas.
The equipment is positioned so
that it prevents correct ventilation.
The fan does not work.
THE WELDING CONNECTORS.
POSSIBLE SOLUTION.
Make sure there is voltage at the entry to the
machine, if not the tapping must be changed or
the supply hose repaired. It is advisable to see if
any magnetothermal has "blown".
Replace ON/OFF switch.
Repair equipment.
Change the magnetothermal for another larger
gauge one. In the event that the electrical
installation has limited power, the welding work
must be tested at lower current levels.
Carry out insulation test between power supply
and housing. Check that no cable has derived
to the shell or the chassis.
Equipment overheated, wait until the equipment
cools down. If it does not recover. Switch off the
equipment and check that there is continuity
between the ends of thermal switches th1, th2
and th4.
Decrease welding current or change electrode
for one with larger diameter.
Place electrode to negative pole.
Regulate at an appropriate flow.
Place the equipment in an area where the air is
constantly replaced.
Replace the fan.
