Remove
existing M8
bolts from end
of each frame
rail.

1.
Remove appearance panel which covers the trunk pan. Remove the (7) plastic rivets that fasten the fascia tabs to the vehicle.
Note: Remove the center of the rivet with a screwdriver. Return appearance panel and fasteners to vehicle owner.
2.
Remove existing M8 bolts (2) from end of each frame rail. Return fasteners to owner. See Figure 2.
3.
Lower exhaust system at the rubber isolator. Note: Spraying a lubricant or soapy water on the metal hanger rod and the rubber
isolator helps removal.
4.
Raise hitch into position over the exhaust.
5.
Install fasteners as shown above. See Figure 1.
6.
Tighten all fasteners to called-out torque specification
7.
Raise exhaust system back into position.
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to
prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working
beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.

and SAE J684.

Tighten all 3/8-16 GR5 fasteners with torque wrench to 30 Lb.-Ft. (41 N*M)
Tighten all 1/2-13 GR5 fasteners with torque wrench to 75 Lb.-Ft. (102 N*M)
