Connecting the machine to the power supply

The electricity specifications on the model plate of the machine should be the same as the mains voltage.
• The machine should be connected to a 230 V socket
• The socket should be fitted with a 10 or 16 amp fuse
Caution:
All electrical work on the socket or electricity supply and fuses should only be carried
out by a qualified electrician.
4.3

Connecting the units to the machine

Position the control unit (illus. 1, 3) under the milling table (illus. 1, 1) and connect the socket on the control unit
(illus. 3, 3.7) with the socket on the back of the milling machine (illus. 2, 2.2) using the cable supplied. The two 5-pin
plugs should be inserted and secured with the swivel nut.
Plug the mains cable supplied into the back of the control unit (illus. 3, 3.2) and connect to the power supply.
Insert the 3-pin plug of the foot control cable into the socket at the back of the control unit (illus. 3, 3.8) and secure
with the swivel nut.
The light connector (illus. 3, 3.9) is intended for external lighting.
4.4

Connecting the compressed air supply

A compressed air supply is required for operating the movable milling table with the pneumatic lock as well as for
air-cooling.
The machine is connected to the existing compressed air supply in the laboratory or to an external compressor using
the following method.
Caution:
Check the pressure of the compressed air supply in the laboratory beforeconnecting
the machine to it. Ensure that the compressed air pressure is at least 3 bar but does not
exceed 4 bar. If the pressure is too high, a pressure reduction valve shouldbe fitted.
• The foot control also has two compressed air hoses to turn the air cooling for milling on or off. To install the
hoses, hold the blue socket (illus. 2, 2.8) on the machine firmly and insert the blue compressed air hose of the
foot control. The socket automatically clamps the hose tightly, so no additional retention is required. Then
hold the black socket (illus. 2, 2.7) on the machine firmly and insert the blue compressed air hose with the
black marking. The socket again automatically clamps the hose tightly.
• Insert the blue compressed air hose supplied (ø 6 mm) into the socket on the side of the milling machine
(illus. 2, 2.1). Hold the socket on the side of the machine firmly and insert the compressed air hose.
The socket automatically clamps the hose tightly, so no additional retention is required. To remove the
compressed air hose, hold the blue ring on the socket firmly and pull out the hose.
• The compressed air hose (ø 6 mm) is then connected to the compressed air supply in the laboratory using
the coupling. The coupling (KS-PK4) supplied is generally for universal use. It is possible that it may not be
suitable for use in your laboratory. In this case contact your local supplier.
