Setting up and operating the machine
After the machine has been properly connected, it can be set up for milling.
5.1
Inserting the cutter and drill into the chuck
• Turn the chuck (illus. 4, 5.8) clockwise as far as it will go.
• Insert the cutter or drill into the chuck of the milling machine handpiece.
• Turn the chuck (illus. 4, 5.8) anti-clockwise to lock the cutter or drill in place. This automatically secures the
instrument in the chuck.
Caution:
Instruments with a cutting diameter of more than 3 mm should not be used.
Caution:
To prevent accidents, remove the instrument after the work has beencompleted.

Please note:
Do not tighten the chuck without an instrument in it. Ensure that the instrument has
the correct shank diameter.

Please note:
In addition to the ø 2.35 mm chuck, a ø 3 mm chuck and a ø 1.60 mm chuck adaptor
are available. How to change the chuck and usethe chuck adaptor is described in
section 5.10.

5.2
Adjusting the height of the support bar
Loosen the adjustment screw on the support bar (illus. 1, 4.1) and set the bar to the required height. Then lock the
support bar in place again by tightening the adjustment screw.
Caution:
If the adjustment screw is not tightened, the bar should be supported to prevent it
accidentally falling down.

Please note:
The friction screw on the left column (illus. 1, 4.2) should be tight enough to
prevent the bar falling down, but loose enough to allow the support bar to be
moved when the adjustment screw is loosened.
