Adjusting the height of the milling motor

The height adjustment mechanism of the milling motor, which has spring suspension, can be locked using the
adjustment screw (illus. 5, 5.2).
The guide bar (illus. 5, 5.3) is inserted into the socket next to the micromotor and has severalfunctions.
• It allows the height to be adjusted. The height is set using the lateral adjustment screw. The eccentric head is
supported on the swivel arm.
• It provides an aid for milling channels. The adjustable height setting (illus. 5, 5.5) of the guide bar enables
channels to be milled precisely when the milling arm is locked.
• It provides an aid for drilling and milling interlocks. The adjustable socket (illus. 5, 5.4) of the guide bar
(illus. 5, 5.3) enables interlocks to be precisely drilled or milled when the milling arm islocked.
i
Please note:
The milling motor must be moved to the left side of the swivel arm before the guide
bar can be inserted into the socket (illus. 5, 5.4).

Using the halogen lamp

The halogen lamp is attached to a flexible arm which allows the angle of the lighting to be adjusted. The lamp is
switched on and off by turning the ring on the head of the lamp.

5.10 Changing the chuck

• Turn the chuck (illus. 4, 5.8) clockwise as far as it will go.
• Remove the drill or cutter.
• Put the triangular chuck key supplied onto the chuck.
• A screw in the shank of the chuck locks the chuck into the drive shaft. The 1.5 mm Allen key is inserted into
the chuck to loosen the screw.
• Hold the chuck firmly with the chuck key and turn the 1.5 mm Allen key anti-clockwise until the chuck can
be loosened manually.
• Turn the chuck clockwise to remove it from the shaft.
• The new chuck with an instrument already inserted is now screwed manually into the drive shaft as far as it
will go.
• Unscrew the chuck by a half turn in a clockwise direction. This allows the instruments to be inserted more
easily by creating a little more space between the chuck and the instrument. Then remove the instrument.
• Place the triangular chuck key supplied onto the chuck.
• The screw in the shank of the chuck is now tightened again using the 1.5 mm Allen key.
5.11 Mount for attachment – parallel holder
An attachment holder can be fixed in the mount at the milling arm for the parallel alignment of prefabricated
attachments (illus. 5, 5.12).
